fair point costs for crisis suits?

basic crisis suit is overprized with 42 pts befor adding weapons.

 

what would be a fair price for them? im asking because i am going to discuss the crisis costs in my local gaming group.

 

i would say 30 pts for a blank suit is fairly prized. for balancing i would make a restriction, so that you can only take 2 weapons and 1 support system. so no 3x cib cheese.

 

what do you think? is 30 pts too less?

Yeah I'd say about 10p less sounds about right.

3 weapons per suit is fine tho. If GW intended them to work differently they would have restricted them like that but Crisis are meant to be highly variable in terms of loadout. 


Most Crisis Suit artworks even feature 3 weapons.

So we can replace the burst cannon with 3 burst cannons? Just reviewing my codex. Do people usually go 3 weapons? Sorry to hikack.

 

A Crisis Suit has 3 slots for any combination of Burst Cannons/Fusion Blaster/Flamer/Plasma Rifle/AFP/CIB/Missile Pod and most of the support systems (ATS, CDS, DC, EWO, MT, SG, TL and VT).

Of course you have to pay for each piece separately as with any other unit and piece of equipment in the game.

 

 

And yes people usually go for 3 weapons because the support systems either aim to increase the suits damage but does it worse than an additional weapon or has a rather niche application (intercept fire, re-roll overwatch, 4++ when you could just sacrifice drones) or is just bad (Multi-tracker mostly).

I'm sure you guys will beat me up on this but 30 pts. seems too good to me for Crisis suits.

 

When I compare the stat line for a Crisis Suit to, for example a Terminator, they come out way ahead. T5, 3 wounds

Then comparing the actual usage (the fly keyword is just so good) and taking into account marker light support, and these guys have Termies beat hands down.

 

I'd say 34/35 is closer to where they need to be. And yes, Termies either need a complete redesign or to drop a couple points.

I'd say 30p seem okay. Inceptors are 25p, have -1W, +1BS, but same armour/toughness/deployment/battlefield role. And inceptors are actually getting used, unlike terminators, but aren't tournament-grade cheese either.
