I have finally started a Knight, I bought the original Renegade a few years back but I got scared and ended up selling them on...

 

Fast forward to this month I got the new box and I actually started :).

 

Here are the labours of my work so far :) 

 

Its just feet but the fact I have started it is worth a medal alone...

Sticking just the feet onto the base and then texturing and detailing it would have made painting it so much easier. Now I'm probably going to have to airbrush the sand from all directions to get decent coverage. Oh well, live and learn...

 

 

The silver trim and the red armour look fantastic. Looking good so far. :)

I have been making good progress, never going to win awards but I am enjoying it. This is the first thing I have painted thats bigger than a standard Dreadnought  :)

Doing the Thermal Cannon atm... I have done some barrel burn on the barrels. What should I do to the cowl?

Edge hightlight all the edges. It does add to it. Also consider making it darkened with soot at the front?

OK for now its finished I will come back later to sort stuff like the soot.  But this has been a breakthrough moment for me... 

 

I bought the original Renegades only to sell the Knights I was too scared to paint, I have made so many mistakes in painting this one, bad sub-assemblies, having to take the shoulders off as I couldnt fit the weapons on etc... Mistake after mistake.

 

Is it the best I could do NO but it is a start and I am proud of myself for painting it...

Great work. The knights are not as bad as I thought they would be. But I am doing Hawkshroud colors. And yellow can be a pain. But impressive work I especially like the silver trim and rivet work.
