Hey all.

Today on a whim decided to download the Prophets of Waaagh!  on Audible to make a change from my normal podcasts as I worked.

WOW!

They are short (3 20min Episodes) but they are great... some of the best Ork Point of View storytelling I have seen from Black Library.

So fellow Ork Enthusiasts who has listened to them?   Where you as impresed as me?

And does anyone know of other stories told from the Ork Perspective?

How does Audible work? I've never used it.  I see It will let me have 2 free downloads but how much do more cost I see no price listed through Amazon. But it says I can cancel any time?
I'm lost.  I was looking at that book and the other 2 on Black Library but didn't know what I would need to download them. Again, another service I have never used.
I read Evil sun rising and am interesting in these as well.

I take that back I see where the prices are now. I'm going to get them!

Its cheeper to get the books with a membership.

Though dont use credits on these books, credits cost about $12.. so using it on books cheaper than that is... Well :D

Good Morning,

So I did some additional research, on this subject of stories from the Ork Perspective.

Their basically is two sets of stories.

The Evil Sun Meks. (Uggrim, Snikgob, Bozgat, Talker the Madboy and Frikk the grot)

Evil sun rising - Noveal ebook

Claw of Mork - Audio Book/Play

Prophets of Waaagh! (Audio Book/Play):

PT 1: The End of Daze
PT 2: Bozgat's Big Adventure
PT 3:The Waaagh! Faker

Then the other series is the Venerable Deff Skwadron comics.

I picked up and listen to the Claw of Mork this morning, and it was good. Not as good as the Prophets series, but still very Orky.

I've added all 4 of those audio books to my list on Amazon and will buy them that way it looks like the best way for me to get them. about $15.00 usd. for all 4.

I'm looking forward to these.

Great!

Now on the Black Libary site its talking about that the whole Prophets of Waaagh! series is 'about' to be published in a single CD and MP3, Iam expecting that will drop in Orktober with the rest of the stuff.

But Its very good, listened to it again today.

I've managed to listen to all 4 of them now. The first 3 were mental! It was interesting hearing Ork as a spoken language for the first time. It kinda freaked me out!
I have to listen to klaw of mork again I fell asleep and missed most of the last third.

I liked that they talked about Wild boys and the know whats. I feel like it's a lot of old fluff mixed with newer fluff and it works well.

Oh gosh yes when the first book opens with the Ork talking in pure Orkish I didn't know what I was in for! But Wow!

And indeed, the mix of fluff works well Parts of it felt like the return of the 2nd eddcodex.

Which Leads me too these points

I also love how they talk about the Primaris and it makes me ponder how much of the old fluff, Like Mad Boys are going to be making a return soon? I mean I know the 'Prime Orks' where in the beast arises series, but these stories are set in the current 'present'.

The appearance of the Rebel Gots, makes me very happy...

Yep!

I like the way the old fluff was dripped in and seemed informative but casual and is actually part of the unfolding plot, if you can tell. The Orks know somethings s bit off but haven't put heir finger on it yet. The why's and what fores. The may never bother to connect the dots either. haha.

Loving it.

That intro on the first track took me by surprise for sure I though did some one kill the file? is it corrupt?  Got me good when it "got sorted out".

So...
I just finished The Klaw of Mork! I enjoyed it. The recording isn't as vibrant as the Prophet of Da WAAAGH stories but that was my only complaint. I really hope we can get 2 or 3 more stories a year about these Meks doing Mad Mek stuff! I really like all the personalities and that the voices aren't all the same so it adds a lot of life to the characters.
Poor Frikk. It's a grots life. lol.  I am glad they reiterate that they are Orks, as their reasoning for doing things all through the stories as well.

I could listen to Mek talk for days too. We should work on a compilation of Mek speak, and dub it over a video of Auto repair or something, building a Space shuttle (Anything technical would be even more madness! ) It reminds me of Dr. who and Farscape. Orks would fit nicely in both and still be Orks, which is Key. Haha.

I sorted out Audible and found an MP3 converter which has worked just fine. I'll be discontinuing Audible It's been a bother and these 4 books were the only reason I subscribed. I'd have bought them directly from the BL, but didn't know who they deal with digital files, or what service I would have to use. But that's my problem. :whistling:

Looks like I have a while to get it sorted out. I really hope that the BL will put Evil Sun rising in audio as well as Engine of Mork. Maybe we'll get lucky.

I have been 'Re-Reading' them again and a thought occurred to me in claw of Mork there was a HUGE battle going on, but to the Orks it felt more like some type of party was happening, like the whole war was kinda incidental.

Though on the note of the books, I found this interview on Warhammer TV, that talks about Guys writing of these books. (Conversations about the books start at 18:00mins)
