That Escher looks great! I was disappointed all the older pics in the log have disappeared however. Any chance you still have some of them hanging around?

I've done my best to restore images to the blog, I couldn't find them all but I think this fills in most of the gaps. thanks for checking in!

Oh, and I've started to paint the converted Ganger/Champion, very early doors blocking in some basecoats and doing a bit of work on the flesh. Plan is to give her some quite sheer leopard print tights/leggings.

I started working on painting her boots, I'm aiming for a patent leather/glossy PVC look, this is my very early experiments towards achieving that, I know the blends needs some work this is early sketching in, just wanted some early feedback before I go too far.

More progress on the Escher, now known as Sweet "Samurai" Lucy thanks to some input from someone over on YakTribe. Also based on that I've gone with some leopard print tights and started playing around with various other areas in a haphazard fashion. Trying to give a worn leather look to the gloves, pouches and various other bits, still needs work though.

Sweet Lucy looks like Lelith Hesperax. Did Games Workshop intentionally make the Escher gangers resemble Drukhari- maybe hinting at relations between the factions, e.g., the Escher provide slaves to the foul xenos, in exchange for combat drugs?

Edited: Goddamn autocorrect replaced "gangers" with "hangers".

Heheh, she's converted from a Daughters of Khaine Witch Aelf model so not really a GW design of Escher Ganger...

Still soldiering on, did some more work on the gloves, aiming for a worn black leather look with a lot of the natural hide colour showing at the edges and worn parts.

Uncertain about the blue elbow pads, thinking of working the blue to a high gloss like the boots but then adding some damage to make it look utilitarian.

As one project has drawn to a pause I'm returning to another, I used some vouchers I was given for Christmas to pick up some new Necromunda goodies.

gallery_62155_16800_538125.jpg

So I'm going to be cracking on with some Necromunda stuff for a little while as a change of pace from painting red. I have been thinking up some ideas I want to incorporate and I will also look to doing some more walls at some point.

Okay, I've made a start on my new Escher gang, the Underhive Harridans. Kicking things off with a modern Glow-Up of my favourite ganger from the original metals the one with flail and laspistol. She has had a promotion and is now my gang Queen.

gallery_62155_16800_990.jpg

I've tried to replicate the pose and attitude of the original (excuse the teenage paint job) with the new plastic parts. I'm not sure about the pistol pose and I would like to find a proper ponytail for her instead of death maiden braids.

Been working on some accessories for my Eschers in the form of some pistol holsters, a part that seems like an odd omission from the Necromunda range in general given the importance of a backup sidearm.

Used some Empire Pistoliers holsters and modified the grip, length, thickness and added a las-barrel. Let me know what you think.

nice work on the leopard print. it looks really convincing. i have a question as i am new, is it frowned upon to leave bare skin?

Not as far as I am aware, just wasn't sure how practical it would be in the depths of the Underhive! I wanted it to be a bit more sheer to be honest, but it didn't quite work but we'll chalk that one up to experience.

First experiment fitting the modified holster prototype to a ganger model.

gallery_62155_16800_115630.jpg

I think I need to do another version the the grip the other way over. And to make it thinner around the top where it joins the model, but I'm always open to more ideas to help me nail things down.

Okay, so I have done a version I prefer of the holster for this model but will like use the other elsewhere. So in the meantime I've got some paints out!

Started working in the head of the new Queen, the close up is not doing too many favours for the pic, but I'm liking where it's going, also first time I've not just copped out the eye.

Also working on a new basing scheme for this gang, it's not massively different to what I did before, but because I've not got the model already in place I can take it a little further.

Bit of an update on painting the Queen.

Been working on the head and body, will do the coat and arms later. Here's how I'm getting on.

Fair bit still to do but I'm liking where it's going. Let me know what you think.

She's done! The first Escher I've finished in a while and the start of my new Gang The Underhive Harridans. This is the Gang Queen who has risen from the remains of my original gang to form her own gang. She is an updated take on the old ganger with flail model and goes by the moniker of B***h Shifter. Let me know what you think.

Good job on the Gamg Queen. Did her head come from a Warhammer Fantasy Amazon model?

Thanks, the headdress from the Escher Death Maidens, but mixed with a head from the original box and a ponytail cut from an AOS blood warrior topknot.

Keeping going with more recreations of my fave or most iconic metal Eschers we move on to the one cradling her raised lasgun and giving a nice sniper-esque vibe. As I played around I realised that to recapture the essence of this model I would have to deviate from the loadout a bit.

So she got a bit of a promotion to Matriarch with Needle Rifle.

I think that I'm happy with that one, but I did have some spare time waiting so I went for one of the ones included in the original gang box rather than the separate blisters. The autopistol and sword ganger.

gallery_62155_16800_88439.jpg

They are now about ready for painting, although I may add some pouches etc to the gang sister with stiletto sword before I do so.

Let me know what you think.

Been a bit hot for painting recently, and so played around with an idea I've had kicking around for an Escher Dome Runner. According to the background of the Wyld Runners young Escher spend their time in the Wyld away from the gang, exploring the nightmare Underhive and become experts in its uncertain territories I figured that some of these would not yet have attained the status of a full blown Prospect, but might still prove useful to a gang as a Hanger On.

Here's where I've got so far:

gallery_62155_16800_186828.jpg

I know that there's probably more I can do to really sell the Dome Runner vibe/create the difference between a full member of the gang. (I'm already planning a more muted kind of colour scheme) but I am always interested in suggestions and feedback on my ideas.

Pushed in and got the Dome Runner to somewhere that I'm reasonably happy with.

As you can see I filed some bits down to make them plainer, found an alternative knife blade, ditched the chem synth and generally refined it. I'm planning a more subdued paint scheme than the full Gangers but with bright hair.

Speaking of painting I've made a start on the Needle rifle specialist.

Obviously loads of work left to do here.

Let me know if you have any thoughts, input etc.

I've finished her now, I had s bit of an issue when it came to assembly but I battled through and I'm reasonably happy with the outcome, there are bits that got a bit rushed following my frustrations but they kind of add some character.

I also did a side by side with the model I was paying homage to/ updating.

gallery_62155_16800_94965.jpg

I tried to keep the essence of the model and aspects associated with it. Hence the Death Maiden braids to represent the triple ponytail the original had paired with the mohawk. The dagger on the hip and the gear in the leather belt. I also tried to stick with my original colour scheme, although The leopard print boots were inspired by Laboutins; hence the red soles, Escher are nothing if not couture.

I like these a lot and I used Louboutins as the inspiration for the footwear of my Eschers, too. I didn’t do the greatest job with painting, but I think the flavour of mine and yours is similar. Kinda a cross between the Chem Fiends from Fallout New Vegas and the Old Town Hookers from Sin City. I like your use of names… I went with Deff Nell, Nyx Nightshade and Chloe Carnage, among others!

Thanks, I'm looking forward to the challenge of painting velvet thigh high boots on a future model! I'm sure you're doing yourself a disservice have you got pics somewhere?

I'm trying to blend cyberpunk and couture concepts really - couturepunk?
