Character units & targeting

Question - do you add the wounds together in a unit that has the character keyword to see if you are over the 10 wound threshold for not being able to target the unit if its not the closest?

 

Scenario - Saint Celestine is 7 wounds each bodyguard is 2... so a full unit has 11 wounds but also has the character keyword so would you be able to target it if they were behind a Battle Sisters Squad?

 

 

EDIT:  I'm a muppet and should read the whole rule

 

           the rule  mentions the keyword character being on models and talks about them being targeted.  So the unit is a collection of models all with the keyword character individually and all are under 10 wounds
