Lord Uglor Does Gryphonicus

Okay, been doing a little bit more on my scenery, so I've finished another building.  This one uses a new printed dome that I found on Thingiverse and adjusted to fit my own roof tiles.  I also wanted to try a little something different with the painting just to make it stand out a bit more than another gray building.  It also cleaned me out of all my taller Civitas wall bits.  I've done a bit more on 3D modeling my own versions, and once I've got it together I'll throw some pics up.

I'm going to do more work on finishing my half done titans.  Let me know what you guys think.

@ Mendi Warrior - Thanks!  I have been wanting to try the faux marble technique out on something, but never had something that I thought fit the bill.  Seeing as this is such a big building ( it can block a Reaver from line of sight) I wanted it to just stand out a bit more.  I may make a few more domed buildings for my scenery to carry on the look.  Since I can scale the dome to any size I want, I might as well make use of it.

It is a perfect opportunity and the result is absolutely great. I have seen some people doing faux marble on armour panels as well.

Definitely a good idea to have a few more to carry on the look.

A 3D printer is definitely something I'll acquire at a later point in time, when I do, I'll go crazy with scenery I think :biggrin.:

Okay, I've been doing a lot of little things lately, not really finishing much.  What I have done is produce a building of my own design based off the Civitas line.  I have made templates that I can use to detail, based off measurements from the Civitas plastics, so in theory, it should be compatible with the plastics.

This little test building I designed as a little pumphouse type thing.  For ease and time, the two short walls are identical to each other, as are the long walls.  It's nothing to write home about, but it will block a warhound's line of sight. I can make it taller if I so wish, and still have the dome seen on a previous piece of scenery to add in if needed.  Pics!

Warhound for scale purposes.

As I said, nothing spectacular, but easy to help fill out my scenery needs.  Let me know what you think!

I really love the balance of yellow, blue and maculated grey in your force - the latter is understated but elegant, the first two make for a very striking impact.

For the Octad, brother!

I haven't been here for a while and I have to say that this is an amazing building:

Great work Uglor - and your force looks amazing too - all those God Machines put together, they just put the fear of the Emperor in you!

It has been a while, but I have returned!  I lost my passion for a bit, so I hobbied in different areas, and lo and behold, felt the bug again.

Without further adieu, I have pics of 2 additional Cerastus Lancers I've just finished.  I tried for a more dynamic pose, ones that evoked a 300-esque look to them.  I feel that I achieved what I wanted to do, but you'll have to let me know if you think I've done it.

I have built a fair few MDF buildings that I got from ttcombat.com.  Once I've gotten more than just gray primer on them I'll post some pics.  I'm hoping to get more done in the coming weeks, and I think my pace will be slower than previous, but hopefully steady.

'Dynamic' is the word! I just hope that #3 is firmly pinned in place, given it has its centre of mass about as far from its connection to the base as possible. Daring stuff, and very evocative.

@ Chaeron- Thanks!

@ Macrossmartin- Thank you, and he is firmly attached, so no worries.

@ Mendi Warrior- Thank you!

The poses were super easy, I just used the left leg from one, and the right leg from the other.

Just a little update today.  You've seen the Warlord before, but not the weapon.  I give you my Mori Quake Cannon.

Not much to it, but a little bit of progress!

I finally changed the printhead in my 3D printer so I was able to finish the printing of the second building that I designed.  It's a taller building than the last one, the sides are the same but the front and back are unique.  I also did something more than the plain roof, and put a generator thing on it, as well as an accessway.  The sides were printed with my old print head, and show signs of its slow downfall into broken-ness.  I didn't bother reprinting the walls because they were passable, even containing 'battle damage', and it would be a waste of material.  On to pics, Fistius Maximus for scale.

I'm not sure how many more buildings I'll design for printing as I've found so many cheap to purchase mdf buildings to pad out my scenery collection.

Thanks for looking!

Yes, it's been a while, but I've finally returned with something small to offer up for your viewing pleasure.

I have purchasedf a couple boxes of the Acastus Knights, and have completed the first.  Now, even though I like the Acastus chasis, and the Porphyrion specifically, I'm not a huge fan of the Asterius.  I like the Conversion Beam Cannons, but I prefer the silhouette of the Porphyrion more, so I'll be converting the second one into this pattern, removing the Magna Las-Cannons for my own scratch/3D printed Beam Cannons.

On to the pictures!

Hopefully it wont take me that long to produce the second one.
