6" Heroic Intervention = No Escape!

Ok, maybe I'm dumb for not realizing this before, but I played a game last night and my opponent was trying to escape combat from my wolf lord.

He pulled back with an infantry unit that I didn't quite finish off. Of course, after the retreat he was able to shoot at my character (he was the closest model at that point) but, after they fell back, I realized i could just HI immediately at the end of their charge phase. Note that, per one of the FAQs, you can HI any enemy unit even if it didn't charge anything.

Due to our extended Heroic Intervention range, it is impossible for any unit to escape from a SW character unless their move is more than 6". You are not allowed to advance when you fall back.

So, this means that no matter what, a SW character can keep chewing through a squad until they are dead, fighting on both player turns.

Just something cool to keep in mind (and really makes sense for our characters from a fluff POV as well!).

Thx

It is in the Designer's commentary.

"Q: Can Characters only perform a Heroic Intervention against enemy units that charged this turn, or can they do so against any enemy unit? A: They can do so against any enemy unit. Note that they can only do so if they end up closer to the nearest enemy model, whether it charged this turn or not."
