Arise we, from dust. Unto ash, they fall.

Starting a little token force of Necrons because. So I'll chronical them here.

As lame as it sounds I just want to paint them up like like dirty old robots... Just like my deluded mind has remembered them back in the early 2000s... So mostly metal + dirt + rust + modest OSL to match the clear green bits.

Thanks for humouring me.

Necrons have been by far the most frustrating models to build for me, and I even bought a fair portion of my stuff used already assembled  Still love the models though!

I'm definitely going to use a round file for any further heads I have to deal with, that's a good idea. I did the same as Tyriks cutting the cheeks smooth with my knife.

Well. At the moment I'm intending on keeping it simple. I started in 3rd Ed, and my brother and I were discussing Necrons this past week... We both really liked the unintelligible ancient evil Necrons were when they first became an army.

They didn't communicate, they didn't negotiate. They showed up, relentlessly attacked and regenerated and once their mysterious purpose was fulfilled. They disappear.

So I'm going for a less identifiable look. I just want them to look dirty, corroded and ancient. Devoid of any markings of heraldry.

This triarch stalker is an interesting kit...

Almost no mold lines. Potentially magnetisable for removing all the limb's for transport... Not sure how to assemble the crewman. His legs don't seam to have a clear orientation. So it would Sea I have to put them together and check and if they don't work break and Reglue until they work... IDK.

Anybody ever built the crewman and left him out for painting purposes? Can he slip in and out easily enough to allow this?

The Stalker is a wierd kit to put together, I must say. My only proper stalker kit never had the cage properly installed, and the pilot's feet didn't sit right. Trial and error is likely to be your best way to get things done.

Also, it's probably common sense to you, but when you prime the stalker, tap the forelimbs to make sure that the paint doesn't set into it and lock the limbs in place. I made that mistake and it's costing me in terms of size footprint for transport.

All the same, good luck with the kit. I look forward to seeing what you do with it!
