So, I haven't been too well recently, so it has made painting difficult. However, I have managed to quickly paint up this chap to add to the recent Sergeant Centurius I did a while ago.

Sorry for the poor picture quality, can't get the lighting just right at the moment.

Great looking painting mate. Especially love the blue flame effect and the pale and gaunt skin tones on Centurious. Haven't seen that fantastic model in ages as it was always in demand on ebay.

Might I ask how you painted bone? I always do mine either too grey, or too yellow. Yours looks like a great balance.

Thanks man, glad you like! :D

The bone is pretty straight forward, Rakarth Flesh > Agrax earthshade > Rakarth highlight > Screaming skull > White. Less and less highlights as you go. Hope it helps :D

I haven’t painted a model now since I think the middle of November. Christmas, work and general ill health have kept me away from the painting table.

So I am quickly just catching up on a few projects I started last year, the first of which is the Legion of the Damned squad. And here is the third model in a squad of five.

He’s a little scruffy but I am a little out of practice and I also filmed myself painting him for a bone tutorial. And filming whilst painting is tricky!

Excellent work on the model. I can't help but think the base should have scorch marks under his feet- maybe leave two oval sections unadorned but for black paint, as if the gravel had melted into glass- to give the impression the Legionnaire is literally BURNING with determination to continue serving the Emperor, even after death.

The painting quality is pretty awful on this guy, but he is done, just one more to go and that’s the first of many projects completed!

I say the model is well done. The painting quality may be awful by your standards, but it's still far superior to what many others (including myself) are capable of.

I've finished my most recent tutorial. I'm still learning a lot about filming these, and I think I should have used a bigger model to paint, and also shown more of the actual process. It's just surprisingly hard to paint whilst filming!

My small Legion of the Damned Squad is now complete!

I'm pretty happy with how these guys have turned out, there's a lot more I could do with them, but I at least this project is complete!
