Shooting support

So just came back from Nottingham after the Skull of Thrones.

I got 4 wins 1 loss. All tough games I played the objectives and survived thanks to the DG/nurgle resilience.

The biggest problem I found was long range fire support.

So shooting support:-

1- predators

Not a big fan of predators as they degrade quick and are points expensive

2- Leviathan

Love my Leviathans but 360 is I have found is to much of a commitment in the local meta.

So not sure what to do

I have been thinking about:

auto cannon / missile helbrutes only 112 points each

Butcher cannon contemptor 180 ish points

Renegade helverins X3 but doesn't fit very well with my army

Anyone elses thoughts would be a great help

Renegade helverins would probably be the most competetive option from what you've listed but if it doesn't fit well with your army I wouldn't consider it a great option still.

I have been using a duo of helverin, they are great at taking out light multy-wound target. Tyranid zoantrope / venomtrope, heavy weapon squads, eldar jet bike etc.

they are not good vs T7 up, struggle against 2+ / 3+ armor.

-1 to hit will severely reduce your accuracy.

that said, I feel DG can deal with light infantry easy and hard thing in melee, they fill a great role nothing else in deathguard do well.

if you do not like them, Its pretty much trio of predator for me.

Its probably best to wait for Chapter approved before any commitment at this point, we may get some new options.

Oblit are a very strong unit, best when using the slanesh(?) Strat to shoot twice.

Its pretty far from deathguard in the allies department, and the current model is... sub par.

There is probably a way to min max them in a list, and it would be good.
