The work station and tools of the trade

My workstation itself is a work in progress. I've spent a bit of time here and there on it, especially lately. I felt I would share it.

Starting today with the hobby/paint/tool box I started to set up yesterday.

I needed my paint and hobby tools to be portable. To be able to be stowed relatively quickly and easily and be highly accessible. I can close up this box and clear the bench of basically all the hobby tools and paint in one go. I can bring the whole lot to a shop or a friend's house or my brother's. Which is what drove me to this since I'm heading there tomorrow. Dedicating an afternoon to painting with my brother who has been my on and off hobby buddy for 21 years (YIKES!)

Trying to keep the ball rolling and make progress and keep each other focused and motivated.

The box was surprisingly inexpensive BTW. Tho I definitely have plans to secure the GW paint and the tools and brushes better.

What do y'all think? What are y'all set ups?

Its been a while, but i made something, and it belongs here more than any other topic ive started. So here it goes.

Made a thing.

Magnetized painting handle and pedestal.

Hand full of malleable iron pipe fittings (*unsuitable for welding).

> 3/8" pipe nipple - 3" long

> 1/2" x 3/8" bushing - 2 of,

> 1/2" floor flange

Couple of 1/2" x 1/8" rare earth magnets.

Some loctite thread locking compound.

Lots of superglue and a little bit of baking soda.

Put the poles of the magnets in line such that the final handle has both a south and north pole. Doesnt mattee when used on a model with a washer glued in tge base (which is 90% of my 40k models)... But it means I have either pole to work with when using magnetized sub assemblies which obviously would mean i would have 2 objects with opposite poles that might need a handle when painting.
