ShieldWolf Miniatures is releasing a hard plastic range with resin tanks. The plastics are made at Renedra, a respected firm in England, and there are a number of resin tanks to accompany the release.

The infantry looks very well done to me, even if Sisters aren't my thing, and the tanks have a mean solid appearance. The tanks could easily slide into a number of people's collection.

I'll say what I said on /r/warhammer; these are awful. The faces on the plastic infantry are flat and lacking in detail, and they look like they'll be incredibly flimsy/prone to breakage knowing the general lack of sturdiness in Renedra's plastic. The vehicles are alright, though.

It is a really bizarre release choice in plastic given that GW will be releasing proper sisters next year.

Can't say I'm a fan of the infantry, but the tanks look pretty cool

They look pretty cool, but this plethora of 3rd party sisters models lately doesn’t seem worthwhile, given that relatively speaking, the GW release is “around the corner.” Putting all those resources into developing models based on someone else’s IP also seems sorta dicey.

Based on what GW has shown, I think the new SoB models will be better than most other 3rd parties on the market. Companies like Raging Heroes at least put out their line before any announcement was made. This particular release, on the other hand, seems like it was a bit rushed considering the incosistent proportions between some models, some poses are just straight rips of the SoB range, makes this feel like "nb4 official release".

That being said, the tanks do look really good and interesting.

Woof, those quotes are painful too. Its just an unimpressive copy of the GW style all around.

Those tanks look cool - from the front. But then once yoy see them from the side, they look goofy and stubby.

Shieldwolf announced they would be releasing their army before the GW announcement. I believe it was after they pulled the plug on their Kickstarter because their own backers were crying out for the sisters and not the nordic counterparts the Greeks had gone with.

Renedra is pretty expensive too, if they don't sell well this could end up crippling them.

Maybe someone should send them memo stating Sisters can't take twin lascannons on Immolators then ask them where MM variant is... whistlingW.gif

Maybe they want to leech off beta SoB codex due this month and insert some sales before GW models drop?

If so, watch GW never again release any new beta rules, especially for upcoming/convertable models dry.png

Yeah those tanks were probably the coolest of this lot... and that's not going for much. Maybe if they had a better paintjob.

It's such a blunt SoB rip-off, it's not even funny.

If you build it, they will come. There is a hungry market for *something*. There are people who will buy it because they need it sooner rather than later.

But I'm just guessing ^_^

I guess, but it's a shame so many of these third parties pull stuff like this than trying to make something new. Those tanks are quite good but I wouldn't buy the sister clones because GW ones are on the way.

No kidding. After many years of not much, what's a few more?

Just a classic case of too little too late. If they had released those one or two years ago they would've made tons of money but now I wouldn't hold my breath and rather wait for GW to deliver.

I like the tanks. Is it wise for so many companies to invest in entire resin ranges of Sisters of Battle, with GWs plastic line a year out?

I´m pretty sure the "sisters" line other companies are now putting out in hurry is BECAUSE of GW decided to suddenly announce SoB coming out next year. They were most likely thinking GW was still wokring their lines and decided to fill the gab.

I think both Raging Heroes and ShieldWolf produced their ranges through KS, and so would be already paid for? Anything sold once it hits retail is gravy, I'm guessing.

I don't feel there's too much overlap between GW and third party producers in this instance. RH are far more 'sassy' than GW, and SW offer, IMO, decent bang for buck.

A year ago, I might have gone all in. Knowing that gw are finally releasing their versions soon, and having seen the 'not repentia' from Blackstone fortress, I'm going to wait for Gw.

I dunno if it's just the paint job (because damn that's a lovely paint job) but those tanks are awesome.

As for the Sister themselves... Eh... Would have been nice to get some sprue pics, because at that price they'd make pretty good counts-as female guardsmen or stormtroopers. But they're a bit ugly for a smaller, elite force, which is a shame. If they'd been released even two years ago, they'd have made a killing, but I think they've completely missed their chance here.
