Gks vs orks 1500

Ok so i've recently been struggling against a friend who plays orks. He's editied his list in such a way I can't think of anything from a pure gks perspective to deal with this list.


 


The ork list is as follows   1490/1500


 


Battalion detachment


 


Goff clan


 


HQs:


 


Warboss - power klaw relic


big mek (index) - kustom force field


weird boy - firsts of gork


 


Troops:


 


Nob with power klaw - 29 boys (scar boys)

I have near enough every unit in the gk codex, as well as a baneblade (other variables too)


 


So please feel free to think of anything.


 


I have tried a number of different units and they all make little difference.


 


If it's a No Mercy game I can play more offensive, but the dakka jet and the mek guns simply pick off 5 man squads with ease


 


Objective games I play more defensive but the same thing happens, taking special units such as a flyer seems abit wasted on points JUST to kill his flyer, but as I said im open to suggestions.


 


I was thinking to take Draigo (for re-rolls mostly) with 3 10x strike squads as I found rapid fire storm bolters to be the most effective in points and kill power for killing his boys, even with feel no pain and a 5= inv save from the big mek.


 


But if anyone has any suggestions for taking out the flyer and the mek guns in 2/3 turns without pouring lots of points into it that would be much appreciated.


 


I tried 3 ven dreads with auto cannons.... they work but again 600 points to take out 240...

Does it really take 3 Ven. Dreads for the one flyer? Are they Twin-Las/Auto or are they 2x Twin AutoCannon? When it comes to range anti-armour, Ven. dreads are the best mono-GK's unit. With 48" range hitting on 2s (3s against flyer?), and not needing line-of-sight for hopefully one of them is good. 

 

GMDK is an alternative / supportive unit, with his H.psycannons / G.psilencer as long as you Psychic Onslaught them. But that means both weapons have to be within 24". For that to happen you are usually moving so you're hitting on 3s (4s against flyer?) but naturally re-rolling 1's mitigates it somewhat. 

 

Hmm...not sure about better alternatives yet.
