Brothers! I've decided to yield the better part of the next year to improve my hobby skills in the 5 following areas:

#1: Learn how to take better Mini-Pics- I have a light box and a decent I-Phone, but I really Struggle here. I'm open to any and all suggestions and tutorials!

#2: Pimp-up my model Bases- I was really hesitant converting the new Plague Marine Models at first, so I decided I'd really concentrate on the bases to help tell the story of an Imperial World under siege- specifically focusing on trench warfare.

#3: Teach myself various Rust and Weathering Techniques

#4: Each Model / Squad will include some fluff to flesh out a campaign story I've had brewing for a while...

#5: Get back to Kit-bashing!

Naturally, I choose Nurgle as the new models are pretty cool, and I wanted to push myself to learn more weathering and chipping techniques. I've also been really reluctant about hacking into these models, but Augustus, Kraut, DuskRaider and a number of others have made some pretty awesome conversions with these models. So, using the Call of Chaos event devoted to Nurgle this year, I thought I'd launch out into a full blown army.

Here are some test models based on The Brotherhood of the Seventh Circle invading dug in Imperial Forces: These are not the best photos! (See Goal #1!!!) Also, no fluff just yet (See Goal #4)  I just want you to know what I'll be working on, and ask for you to follow the blog if something sparks your curiosity! All Comments and feedback are welcome!

"We could hear the thunderous roar of the chain-axe before we could see him. The Heretic ambled over the crest of the hill striding past the mounds of corpses in the cratered wastes of no-man's-land. Its bloated belly wept blood and pus and the power pack on its back churned black smoke. O'Malley's Squadron opened fire with an entire line of lasguns and heavy-bolter emplacements. When the miasma of mud settled, the Archtraitor still remained. The impossible echos of his laughter rolled down on us in the trenches like a thunderbolt. I knew then, we were doomed."

So, here's my take on a Foul Blightspawn... alternatively I suppose he could be a Blightlord Terminator / Lord of Contagion.

So, I got a little bored last night and challenged myself to make a few models with figures that were sitting in my bitz box for almost a year or more. Here's what I came up With. Comments welcome.

Here's a loyalist Terminator corrupted by the Dark Powers of Nurgle...

@DuskRaider Thanks for compliment. That means a lot coming from the King of Nurgle. I decided to go back and swap out the helm on the other terminator. (pics Below)

UPDATE TIME! I haven't been slacking off during the holidays, I promise. I just had an urge to dig out some old models and see what I can do with them. The first spawn is an old "classic" model probably 15-20 years old I found rummaging around some old bits boxes I'd been meaning to sort for a long time. I'm kind of bummed I couldn't find its original hand, but I opened up a plastic spawn kit that had been sitting on the shelf for a long time and gave it a go. As always, comments and critiques are welcome.

SPAWN#1 Venier: All-too eager to embrace the Dark Gods, Venier cultivated a short, if not brutal reputation for ferocity in battle eagerly accepting and cultivating all gifts come his way. Now he remains in a chem-vat chemically induced to slumber before being awoken and unleashed on foes...

SPAWN#2 Cosimo: A former Assault Marine, Cosimo worshiped Nurgle's fly swarms and venerated their idols. He fully welcomed demonic possession and gave up larger parts of control for more gifts....

Spawn # 3 Ulthann Thrice-cursed: Ulthann is unique in that he was originally a Doom Eagle that fell captive and slowly tortured and transformed by Barbanos's will. His transformation and binding into a chaos spawn was a long and painful...

Barbanos Sorcerer of Nurgle

I just made a simple hand swap, shoulder pad and backpack with the Dark Imperium box set Dark Angel Librarian.

Finally, head swapped the terminator and moved his bell to the front of the blight launcher:

As skulls don't just separate from their skeletons and pile themselves up, perhaps you should add bloodstains under those skulls, and add bloody handprints on the skulls themselves, to show someone- maybe Typhus himself- internationally harvested the skulls and piled them up to enact a ritual.

Blimey, Typhus is defintiely an imposing character up on his base, really nice job! The liquid aspects are well done, with the fluid running from the pipe; I do wonder if the highlights on the larger bubbles could be pushed a little to get a strong pop, like a small even brighter region at the poles?

The new Terminators are looking good with the varied use of parts and chains.

Really flavorfull terminators you have created there, I like the aspect that they seem to be partly possessed! Looking good!

I just have a small gripe with the terminator that carries the long barreled heavy flamer .... how would that flamer work with all the large holes in the barrels?

@Bjorn Firewalker Thank you! Grandpa blesses you with buboes...

@Kor Dalron Thans brother! I started with an old terminator head, but really liked the idea of plague-bearer possessed termies... The flamer was origginally going to be something like this

But then I listened to Sons of Silence and Dark Imperium and thought it could be a Plaguespewer that acted more like this: Slip and slide meets toxic waste...
