Blackstone Fortress Chaos Marines vrs Dark Vengeance Chosen

Shorter than I was expecting actually! It’s rather encouraging that they scale well with the others as I’ve got tons of Mk3 and 4 based CSMs.

Thanks for this.

Yeah, I was hoping they were similar as I've got two CSM squads made entirely from Chosen with Bolters, with the Champ being the Power Fist Chosen.

I know it may not seem like a alot but the Standard MKIII marine has a tall helmet and is sitting a bit further back then the rest.

So what's the excuse for the DV Marines then?

My point is the new CSM model is just a larger scaled model, not some new silly fluff sending everyone out of their minds because GW is squatting power armor. I don't care about scale in this game where there is to any scale across any line. You think 10 Plague Marines can fit in a Land Raider.. let alone fit into a Rhino? Truescale is ridiculous.

I’m personally stoked, all my little dudes look reasonably similar together. I had to scrap most of my original death guard plans because the new guys are so much bigger than mk3, but plague marines are just bloated bastards. I’m cool with that. Chaos being chaos and all we have it better than the loyalist scum ;)

And just for other reference that you guys might find useful, someone asked in the Cawdor thread...

I'm actually really happy about that cause it doesn't make me scared of buying Mk3 to make an army, I don't feel the need to wait for this full plastic release. I might end up just using them as chosen, or true veterans of the long war.

I'm watching a new tabletop tactics batrap featuring Death Guard vs Sisters. They've got new PMs mixed in with old and some MkIII converts and none of them look bad from above. These are expensive toys for an expensive army.. I don't know why anyone wouldn't want to use what they've got just for the sake of uniformity.

According to Lawrence, they took the new PM's and made them champions because there was a slight difference and it would make the most sense on the leaders. They were happy with the result. The older guys have the FW Death Guard conversion kits on them, with MKIII FW resin mixed in, I believe.
