There's some nice stuff going on in this thread.

Having knocked off 50+ bases so far this year, I'm treating myself to some models. So I've put together four genestealers for my killteam - one with the acid maw, one with flesh-hooks, and two regular guys (all with rending claws and scything talons). I reckon I can definitely get the special weapons done this month; the other two would be a bonus. And to make it official:

I, Rogue, pledge to round out January by completing at least two genestealers by month's end.

Grotsmasha, quick question, I assume the answer is yes but just wanted to check. As I have vowed for L&T IV can I Vow the same models for this event in the next three months?

Absolutely :tu:
Thank you for confirming.I know it is not February yet, and I have not finished the January vow either, but as I just finished the conversion, and posted a picture in L&T IV as part of my Vow there I thought it best to post the start picture for my February Vow here now. I will not start paining him until February.I present one Magos Reductor.gallery_29932_12734_20497.jpgNow the real question, hat or no hat?
Yeah, I think hat :tu:

Nice one :tu:

Any chance I can change my vow to a year-long one?

Back to sea, so no time for pictures and better internet.

Yep, no worries dude :tu:

Hey all,

Some really great stuff here! Looking forward to keeping up with this over the coming year :happy.:

I wanted to post my pledge a couple of days ago - but I had access issues. I've progressed a little more than this picture and, if I'm efficient in my duties today, I may even be finished tonight.

I, Rikkumon, embark on the 12 Months of Hobby Challenge, and for the month of January pledge to complete Specialist MaCready by month's end.

Here's the starting point (as of a few days ago):

Awesome work so far, that Guardsman is insane, Rikkumon.

Now that I have changed to a yearly vow, I can try something a bit more ambitious.

I, .Torch. , embark on the 12 Months of Hobby Challenge, and for the year of 2019 pledge to complete a 1750pts Adeptus Custodes (and friends) list by year's end.

I started my Custodes army in September as part of Trokair's 'Facing the Unknown' event. I currently have a Shield Captain on Dawn eagle Jetbike, 3 Custodian Guard, 1 Vexilla and a Vindicaire Assassin completed. So far this year I have added a second squad of Custodian Guard and am nearing completion of a third. To get myself up to 1750pts I have the following to paint:

1x Trajann Valoris

2x Culexus Assassins

1x Eversor Assassin

1x Imperial Knight Errant

Hopefully this is doable in the next year for me. I would like to try adding lights to the Imperial Knight, so this is very much a 'slow burn' for me despite the small number of models on the list.

Pictures of my starting points to follow when I get somewhere a bit more solid.

A few weeks late to the party in terms of posting, but I haven't been idle. More full of cold and under the weather. Thankfully though, this past weekend I've managed to actually start painting my chaos lord for the month of January.

I know I'll never be the best painter there is, but after coming back to the hobby after a few years, I'm hoping that this challenge will see me improve over the year as I continue to work.

Hopefully I should have him finished by Thursday, or at the very latest next Monday.

A quick pic of my progress thus far

Base 90%, legs need shading, carapace as well. Rockets pods have a base coat down. Body has magnets in sides - need priming and painting.  1 week to go, think I am on track to get done.  Thanks go out to Theduke08 for pointing me in the right direction as far as my new Bronze color, wasn't satisfied with what I was using originally.

There's lots of great work being done here.

After a good early effort I've been a bit slack playing Battletech on my PC. I've just spent a couple of hours doing more basecoating and here's a low quality photo to show some progress.

I'm hoping to get these mostly done tomorrow evening then spend the weekend on Janus. There's a week to go; now's the time to get stuck in and build some momentum.

Also, I really need to make a decision on how I'll base my BSF models.

Honestly if I didn't have my friend coming over to paint nearly daily I'd be lost in Archeage and Stellaris.

Looking good by the way.
