This was my first test of doing two layers of it, which gives multiple layers of weathering. I'm very happy with out it came out. As expected, the ETL really showed just how quickly we can paint, given the right circumstances. August saw 14 returning Frater pledging for another round, of the 14 Frater who vowed, 12 managed to complete their vows, with most members completing additional models, thanks in no small part to the ETL. The final month of the ETL saw us complete a staggering xxx models. I, Rogue, vow to finish the bases on these 30 marines before the end of September, or else I won't, but then I'll still be doing them in October and a solid month of doing bases would be a worse nightmare than any online consequences. Also, it's really not going to take that long (he says with the confident swagger of a man who completed five whole models during the ETL...) It needs a lot of modelling work to de-sea-elf it and on the cogitator and the saddle. Not at the end of this year either.. Next up, the definitely-going-to-be-slower process of stripping and repainting this lot from battenburg-themed guardsmen into slightly-less-early-nineties-looking brood brothers. Ten of the worst looking got dunked and scrubbed earlier this afternoon (original GW paint just falls off in meths, and as it turns out, so do all the arms and heads). The plan is to rebuild them with a few neophyte parts, just enough to give them a link to the Cult without going overboard. Hopefully. Longjohnsilver, welcome aboard, is the shark a Attack Bike or a Land Speeder? My local gaming group is thinking of getting into Necromunda and I will do a Van Saar gang using the Skitarii kit and whatever I can source from my bits box. I will be busy building them this month but I suspect that I will not get as far as painting them this month, so that will have to wait until next month. Instead I am going to do some paint scheme test for my Stormcast/Space Wolf conversion project. So one or more of these “Wolfs” will be my vow for this month. Arkhanist Posted September 5, 2019 Share Posted September 5, 2019 I, Arkhanist, embark on the 12 Months of Hobby Challenge, and for the month of September pledge to complete 14 Death Company, Lemartes and a Redemptor by month's end. Bit of a tidy up for the start of this month. Have some Death Company that need the bases tweaking to the evolved style of my Primaris, re-doing the gems properly, and just jazzing them up a touch. Similarly, I painted the Redemptor in about 8 hours (half of it waiting for paint to dry, it felt like!) on the last ETL day to squeak him in and complete my vow. He's actually in pretty decent nick and certainly tabletop ready, but I think I overdid the weathering a bit so want to clean him up a little, fix the fist, add a few extra details etc. Assuming that goes fairly quickly, I'll have to decide on returning to Blackstone Fortress, starting on my newly arrived series 2 Terminator Heroes, or something different! In your case Jol, you didn't vow for July but posted the Completion with your August Vow.
