Crypt Fiends into Tzeentch Daemon Princes

So, 3 Crypt Fiends are $35 vs 1 DP for $40. I heard this was a thing with maybe bird faces from the start collecting Tz Daemons box. Has anyone done this? Any suggestions?

Images are also appreciated. I also have the Tzeentch Arcanites battleforce box, so those bits are also an option.

Crypt Flayers are on 50mm bases, which are a little bit smaller than the 60mm base for a Daemon Prince. That being said, Crypt Flayers are ALSO noticeably smaller than a Daemon Prince. Even the smallest Daemon Prince model (Be'lakor) is notably bigger than them.

If you're looking for an alternative Daemon Prince model for Tzeentch, the Ogroid Thaumaturge, while not as large as a Daemon Prince, has the right "look" for a Tzeentchian Daemon Prince, and doesn't look grossly undersized on a 60mm base

I've seen people using this guy for Khorne Daemon Princes, and while I haven't seen one compared to the plastic Daemon Prince, he seems like a good size for a Daemon Prince.

I use one Thaumaturge as Tzeentch DP. He is about 3-5mm shorter than a GW plastic DP, but taller than old metal DP. A very good choice.

Crypt fiends are ugly, and limited to a weird "crouching" pose(need to place on square bases when WHFB still alive). If myself pick some GW Death Alliance model as DP, I would choose Morghast.

Back in 7th ed, I made a Juggerlord and pack of Spawn out of Crypt Fiends and Minotaur heads. As others have said, the fiends/flayers are a bit on the small side for a prince, especially with the regular sized heads.

My Juggerlord is probobly okay as a foot prince, but that's mostly because he has massive horns to bulk him out a bit (he's on a 60mm for scale)

The wings from do make fantastic wings for other alternative princes though. They're a good size without being annoyingly large (like theg plastic prince wings)

I have to agree with the comment that the crypt fiends are small. Perhaps too small for some.

I think they can (barely) work out, at least I have made a Tzeentch daemon prince out of one of them by using the body + wings of the fiend , head and banner-pole of a Pink Horror and a little greenstuff loincloth + chain.

Apologies for the poor picture but it's the only one I have now.

I have also used the Ogroid for a super simple Khorne daemon prince conversion

Even smaller models work as Daemon Princes if you elevate them so there is no chance for LoS shenanigans. I have seen people make Daemon Princes out of a single Nurgling perched on a mountain of festering corpses. As long as it looks cool and you are putting a modicum of effort in, it should be fine. If you are worried about your DP being short, give the model height with some rubble (or better yet, dead loyalists).
