DIY chapter idea - Scratch and start anew

HI guys

I've been painting the minis but had to redisign the colour scheme again because I felt the armor all red rather silly. Besides another player has the same army of deep red tied to the inquisition (go figure...)

So i ended up choosing this scheme:

http://www.bolterandchainsword.com/sm/bpe=94999D&bpj=94999D&bp=94999D&bpc=6A0002&hdt=94999D&hdm=94999D&hdl=94999D&ey=52B246&er=94999D&pi=231F20&nk=94999D&ch=94999D&eg=CEAE65&sk=CEAE65&abs=94999D&bt=94999D&cod=94999D&ull=94999D&lk=6A0002&lll=94999D&lft=94999D&url=94999D&rk=6A0002&lrl=94999D&rft=94999D&slt=CEAE65&sli=6A0002&srt=CEAE65&sri=6A0002&ula=94999D&lel=94999D&lla=94999D&lw=94999D&lh=94999D&ura=94999D&rel=94999D&rla=94999D&rw=94999D&rh=94999D&bg=FFFFFF&rb=231F20&gr=231F20&wg=true&aq=true&mk8=true&ti=FFFFFF&lkg1=FFFFFF&bpr=231F20&spl1=533B1C&spr1=533B1C&spl2=533B1C&spr2=533B1C&/spacemarine.jpg

It still keeps the inquisitorial theme but makes the scheme different from that other player.
The chapter symbol will still be the Tower but i decided to eliminate the jaws completely and focus more on the "bastion to defend humanity against the terrors of the dark" theme.

I already tried this scheme on a miniature and it looks nice. I'll try to upload pics as soon as i can.

Cheers!

The color scheme looks good.

Thank you brother!

So i'm arranging a Crusade campaign in my local area, to motivate the players to start painting their armies, creating background for their characters and forces and then using those minis to play when it's safe to have meetings again.

So my 500 pts are these (we are using the Patrol detachment previewed on the wh community site):

Chaplain with Indomitus armour
7 Intercessors with Bolt Rifle and Grenade Launcher, sgt with Powerfist
5 Infiltrators with Helix adept
5 Hellblasters with Plasma Incinerators

I'm still waiting for my Chaplain to arrive but the rest of the troops are ready to paint.

As the idea of this project is to build and paint the army and also create a background for it I've been thinking of how to incorporate the ideas i had for my dark angels project into this army.

So far the army is based on a task force commanded by a Chaplain, who is looking for a lost artifact that is rumoured to have been lost in the Horus Heresy and that contains secrets of the chapter.

Let's see how things develop.

Cheers guys, any comment you have please write it down below

I went ahead and developed the idea more, tying it to the Bear and druid concept.

If you are still planing to use bears as a theme could you look at the bear traditions among the Balts, Ainu and Native Americans and then mix and match.

Something you could do to make the inquisitorial theme different is to have your Chapter allied to a specefic Ordo, maybe a minior one, or an specefic =][= philosophy, and have that influence how the Chapter think, work and/or what they mostly fight.
