Still on the same project, needed to make mortars. But since they are more so advance mercs (researching rogue traders, still working on the lore) decided that they wouldnt do normal militarized mortars so the concept of drones came into play. So jumping the gun bought some drones.

Didnt like the size of them, so i decided to go another route and sell off the ones i just bought.

Ordered some stuff to go along with them to imperial them up,so hope it works out there.

Running 2 commanders and custom model with yarrick stats. So started with the first commander. Not much to it but a head and weappn swap on a lord commisar model.

Finished a unit that took like 3 or 4 days. 2 more units to go. Very tedious.

The model certainly looks unique. Have you decided on a name?

Well the thing about this model, is it favors the misses, so i got some brownie points when i dedicated the model to her. Undecided about using her first name or her middle name.

mannn, ive been slipping on this thread, but i come bearing updates. but just a lil something without overloading you guys.

Shield Captain : starting a dankanatoi detachment of custodes and wanted a shield captain on foot that would be a general in the sense using trajaan stats as the base.

Still have a lot of work to do on this guy, but just wanted to put him together to get the general idea.

Watch Captains

- Sold my previous one and had to make another one. This one was special because it was my one year anniversary of being in the hobby. With that being said wanted to up the ante a bit and make him universal. So I magnetized his hands for multiple scenarios.

I really enjoyed building this guy, had the option of getting the chaplain model from artel w miniatures or work with a model ive always wanted which was blood angels primaris lieutenant tolemon for my birthday. probably 80% of the model still just due to the dynamic pose he already possessed. Thousand Sons sorcerer collar and custodes parts were used + deathwatch and a dash of reiver and the cape from the relictor from thunder and blood box.

Completely forgot that you cant use the mc bolter combo with shield which prompted the magnets when i first thought about the load out. j

wowwwwwwwwwww its been a very long time since ive updated this thread. However, I want to say since starting this hobby journey this is where i started at, and its only right that I come back. :biggrin.: been working more so on my hobby / business page on IG and just been building my skill up. So to just a small update, ive been getting better than the previous models. and these are just an example. Im a kitbasher first, painter maybe 4th. lol but yea I build all the time, so just expect grey models till i build my skill up. dx_ob

Chapter Master For My Warp Eagles
- So this model has been in my life since i first started, I bought the Gravis Captain thinking that he was gonna be in Deathwatch. Since then he has gone through maybe 5 different renditions. lol it has truly been something. lol but either way he has finally found a home, and im truly certain that this is it. lol easy build cause ive done him so many times.

Ork WarLord
- So I decided to take part of a competition build on Instagram to build an ork warboss. This was my first time working with Orks and was fun as hell. Stuck in a hotel for a week, I came out with this. Base model is a scibor miniature, and then various GW parts to compensate a bit. His weapon is a custom build Power Klaw Hammer made from one of his greatest foes. I used one eye for the trophy and broke down the claws, and did what I could under an hotel lamp. lol. His base is the steps of his thrown and if you notice I tried to create ork teeth out of stone. Hopefully I win, but either way, Im very proud of him and is a staple in my self confidence in kitbashing.

seriously inspiring conversions there! lord commander and chaplain competing for my preference but all outstanding work - look forward to seeing them painted!

Thank you Sandalphon for bringing my thread back from the grave. Ive been gone from the site for quite some time. I am ashamed, because this is where I started from, but I want to come back home. Without bombarding you guys with pics, I will take this slow, but still be very much active on here with updating this thread. Instead of a dump, I can actually get on here and be more thorough with my post rather than dump some pics and leave.

So pretty much, since starting up my freelance commission business it has taken away from me actually discussing things, and going for more of a portfolio approach rather than a blog or thread. Might come in the future, but who knows. For now I will continue to update here.

To catch you guys up, business has been going great, ive been getting more projects to further push my creativity and build up experience. In the midst of this I have started a space marines army known as the Warp Eagles. Its my main force that Im taking seriously and applying my talents to. Outside of the Warp Eagles, I have created and Inquisition Strike Force for the misses to play against me, and to create a Narrative Army that consist of Wings Of Solar (Astra Militarum), Inquisitors Retinue ( Tempestus Scions and Inquisitor), and The Lost Phantoms ( Deathwatch ) for Iron Sleet.

Outside of this has been a fair amount of commissions and side projects that have kept me really busy. So mentioning this, think each post will be a particular type stated before hand. Will try to keep it all into 1 thread, so bare with me.

My biggest project up to date has been Mortarion for a friend I met in the community. He has been one of the biggest supporters and has encouraged me to do more, so when he brought it to me, I had to give him my all in creativity.

So I present to you .... A Custom Mortarion

92939433_214721513124293_711563331183732

When we discussed this he was pretty much emphasizing how he wanted his to be different, from research I had seen alot of wing changes or things in the arms. there was only 1 that had did something with the arms to replicate the artwork of him swinging his scythe downwards and the expressed difficulties of working the arms.

92705726_214721483124296_209815501230256

As with any big project, i am very intimidated. These kits arent cheap and for someone to put their trust in me to chop it up and create something adds a sense of pressure. But also just something I do not take lightly. This required thorough research, that eventually led me to this artwork piece for inspiriation.

92661292_214721459790965_802566715736064

Let me make note ..... I am a novice when it comes to sculpting and this was my biggest task. The hardest part was maneuvering the arms to position. By this required a rod, aluminum foil, the two handles, pinning the hands in place, and cutting and retwisting the right arm to match the artwork and pose correctly. green stuff over the foil and worked it into the foil to give it that withered tree feel, i cut parts of the handles off and applied it to the new handle to save time and give it character. covered it in liquid green stuff to attempt to fill in some gaps but its not the best.

The head was also a pain to maneuver, pretty much had to cut a fair amount out, used a copper rod to lift and rotate and whatever gaps their was filled in with green stuff cloth

Favorite part of the model is the wings, pulled from the zombie dragon from the vampire counts, It has a 12.5 in wing span. They do not fit into the sockets at all, so took a drill and drilled straight through, and with a single flexible rod, drilled both ball joints of the wings and ran it straight through and then curved it to hold it in place. Due to the wing span and not painting it myself, I could not complete this. like I said its 12.5 inches which means i would need a 15 inch wide box at about 12 inches high, which will then require special shipping since USPS doesnt allow packages over 12 inches. which would mean big money on the shipping. So provided instructions. really simple to get everything back in that would just be covered up with green stuff. For the fact that its Nurgle, sculpting is very forgiving.

92877040_214721776457600_551744773729078

My other favorite part of this model was creating his base, for the fact its big enough to make it a playable diorama piece i was all for it. The most annoying this is the excess amount of mold lines on the infantry models, this was annoying as hell. and as you see i missed a fair amount. I had looked at some videos where they used tree foliage to portray thick smoke / explosion so used this concept as the very poisonous gas that eats away at the poor cadians. I also couldnt finish this up because of painting so with instructions I placed a 25 mm base with branched off paperclips, and slid on thick pieces and tied and glue extending pieces as well. In the back it is attached with tac that with a good tug, you can maneuver and pull from under Mortarion, and then when you are done, slide it back in and glue additional painted pieces once completed.

The most fun i had was creating the casualties. I was provided skeleton bits and honestly was not that hard to do, you can damn near create anything you want once the smoke comes into play and where I had the most fun creating.

Used the original scenery, minus the nurglings. Whiz Kids scenery is extremely cheap, Miliput to create the ground and scenery came from Army Painted Base Kit.

Thats pretty much it. Wish I had more pics to upload but this thing was too huge for my light box and required its own setup.

My friend mentioned possibly getting painted by siegestudios. So fingers extremely crossed to see this painted in the near future.

Thank you for your time. Expect more from me soon, as I will update as much as I can. I can really only do this from the laptop or at work because uploading from mobile is extremely tedious. Editing and posting with caption takes atleast an hr on IG, so its a bit longer on here. So thank you for taking the time to read this. Hope I could provide a bit of joy during these times. Stay stay and stay creative.

GET OUT OF HERE WITH THAT!!!

Oh man, I started building Dornian Heresy Iron Hands mixing necrons and primaris bits. I haven't gotten far but I have been wanting to build a cryptek once I have the team assembled. Now, poof, there is a pic of your sweet-ass conversion of how I could only dream mine could look! That's fantastic! Little sad to hear he got broken down for parts...however that sounds very appropriate for the mechanically inclined in the grim dark.

Thanks for sharing that!
