Well OK where to start, some of you might know me from my skulking about around the DA forums with my Red Dark Angels Successors

I know Wraithwing from here mainly but a quirk of fate we got to talking outside of here by pure chance (Its not Tzeentch honest).

As we talked we both get to talking about our love for the Crimson Fists, I floated the idea of us doing a slow burn project on the side of our other stuff, me with my Ultramarines 3rd Company and Wraithwing with his awesome Novamarines and Wolves.

So what to expect from us? Our hope is at least a Unit a month this can be anything from the Space Marines Codex.

My plan is for the 3rd Company.

My January pledge will be the remaining 4 guys for a 5 man Intercessor Squad to go with the Guy below.

Need to get some transfers and tex paint.

Now over to my Brother in this journey

Thanks Arkley!

Well, what fun this is going to be!

As Arkley mentioned above, we ended up bumping into each other by chance on social media, a few weeks ago, so got to chatting and decided to have a go at a joint painting project.

I was really taken by the recent Imperial Fists Supremacy Force box, and once I say the rules for the Specialist Detachments in Vigilus Defiant for Crimson Fists, I was really tempted. Then I saw the January White Dwarf rules, and that sealed the deal! So I've picked up the IF box, and am using that as a start to the army.

One thing I wanted to achieve with this army is a quick, easy to paint scheme, which meant I could get these on the table quickly. Both my Novamarines and Space Wolves are quite involved paint wise, taking a long time to achieve the desired results, so I wanted something fast. I found an excellent guide to painting Crimson Fists by Sonic Sledgehammer on YouTube, so tried that, and I think it came out really well. Have a look at the steps below:

First up, I dry-brushed Etherium Blue over Kantor Blue, focusing on catching the sharp edges, and then applied an all over wash of Drakenhoff Nightshade:

Then I picked out a few edges by edge highlighting in Hoeth Blue. Finally for the armour, I applied a matte varnish over the mini, which really helped tie it all together:

Which leaves me with this:

Like Arkley, I'll probably work on my Intercessors first for January, and maybe a Lieutenant.

C&C is always appreciated!

Cheers,

WW

Ugh.... If only I had a second one of that Store Anniversary Primaris Captain..... I really want to do that now.

Thankfully the GW near me is close to their birthday :laugh.: So if it's available this year, I know what I'll be doing

Wraithwing: Aye, Primaris Kantor is a great idea and you've converted yours well. Really like the simple but effective blue recipe you've gone with, too. All in all, really looking forward to seeing more of this!

Brother Sgt Arkley: Solid start. :tu:

Excellent work on Primaris Kantor, all details are on point. Would you mind providing the different parts used ?

I assume you obtained the arms and portion of the backpack from a resin pedro model, and the bulk of the body is the store anniversary captain, but the head ?

Primaris Kantor is something I didn't know I needed until right now. I shall call him Pedro Prime.

Thanks for the kind words guys!

This mini is basically just built from a fine cast Kantor and the birthday Primaris Captain. The head is also from the same Primaris kit.

I have been remiss at not updating this thread as much as the awesome Arkley!

Here's where I've got to so far with my Crimson Fists:

Will post a few more up a bit later when I can get back to my hobby desk.

Next up for the CFs is a Primaris Captain, with Power Fist & Plasma Pistol, more Intercessors, a unit of Infiltrators and some Suppressors!

Cheers,

WW
