Thought I’d finally get some pictures shared, rather than lurking here and admiring everyone else’s work!

I’ve started a Legio Atarus Force, I’ve also got 6 Questoris and 4 Cerastus Knights, plus scenery, but I’ve not started painting any of that, waiting for Titan Death before committing to a Knight house. Hopefully my tech skills are up to the task of posting images, still getting used to this interweb thingie...

So, hopefully, here is my first Reaver, Bastardus Belli;

If that’s worked, I’ll post more in due course! Thanks, and Happy New Year!

Oh, and yes, I know the Atarus sword symbol is upside down, I realised about three titans into the project...

The link does indeed work, although you can post the image directly into the thread using image tags, if you prefer. :)

The Reaver looks really good - the coll white oyu've used really works, as opposed to the cream/bone I have seen on others. It's a really nice model. :)

Thanks Gillyfish! The white is Rakarth Flesh base, Agrax Earthshade Gloss wash, then highlighted up to Pallid Wych Flesh as the top highlight.

How do I do image tags? I’m not particularly tech savvy, I’m afraid, so instructions for a five year old would not be unwelcome...

Thanks!

Neat way to do an off white, I’m struggling with mine.

Thanks! It works really well. Rakarth Flesh covers really well, but I’ve found that you need another coat of it after the wash otherwise the Pallid Wych Flesh/Rakarth mix doesn’t cover any darker areas that well. Then final highlights win just Pallid Wych. You could easily do further highlights with pure white, but I like it as it is.

Here’s my first Warlord, Ultima Curtatio (Final Contest, so named as I was putting it together in the evening before I went to the final 1st Edition X-Wing UK Nationals tournament).

That's really pallid wych?  It looks really starkly white but maybe it's a matter of contrast with the other dark colors you have there.  I was using Ulthuan with white scar highlights on mine and I hope they come out fine.

Some lovely looking engines there. Can you explain what the green things are on the base? On the Warlord, it looks nearly like some kind of artificial incline/ramp but that may be an optical illusion, judging by the base rim.

I’m interested to find out more.

Keep up the good work.

Hi @Dallo,

Thanks for the comments! The green things are indeed inclines, being defence lines I bought from here;

I’ve painted them up in Sons of Horus colours, so it looks like my titans are storming over the positions of enemy infantry, and the SoH are my favourite traitor Legion. I’ve also painted my battlefield objectives in yellow, as the Imperial Fists are my favoured loyalist Legion, just in case Infantry/tanks ever make it into the game again!

Great work Zodd.

Are you sure you are not me?

I mean, Atarus, Sons of Horus and Fists? My favourites too, allthough I nowdays prefer my fists in dark blue.

Ha! Great minds think alike, apparently!

I’ve taken a bit of a break as I am in the process of packing up my house and moving far away (by UK standards), so no modelling or painting for me for a few weeks. I intend to get back on the wagon in style by pledging for the Titans of the Heresy event. I’ll keep them coming in this blog as well as the TotH string for anyone interested. It will help keep me honest!

Right, after an enforced break, due to me moving to Belfast (any NI-based Princeps out there?!), I am now unpacked and painting again! So, without further ado, here are the next couple of additions to Legio Atarus;

Next up, I’m going to tackle my next Warlord, then on to the two Reavers I need for my Titans of the Heresy pledge!

I wish I could figure out how to put pics in posts, rather than links... I’ve done it before, but can’t seem to get it right!
