Oh... Resin miniature... How short lived was my excitement.
Double my frustration because it's a lot better than the plastic Comissar.
Question is wether its FW style resin or Finecrap style resin. Because the former I can live with but the latter is a big fat nope.
The latter doesn't really exist anymore. They've left finecrap behind quite some time ago and especially all the new models won't get made that way anymore.

Cool model. She's very sensible but this is still the same setting with guys charging tanks with Chainswords... Is anything really sensible?
I'll defo get her for sure though

Looking at the model and comparing it to the art, I feel she'd look a bit better with the bunned hair she has on the cover. The head looks massive, but also like it's missing something to proportion it out. Maybe it's the angle and it's there, but.

That's heroic scale miniatures for ya, unfortunately. Enlarged hands, head and weapons. Still, it makes her look a bit boyish, which is a good thing as uniforms and short hair should do that to a person and make it ambiguous, as in real life.

At this point, we are going to pointedly move past this little part of the discussion.

It's not my taste but I appreciate the effort. For me a commissar special model should have been Cain and I'm all for female representation but I might gave gone for the xenos inquisitor who faced off against trazyn or ephrael stern before a newly minted character.
This guy here says all the right things. This is a nice model, and I’m sure her lore/the book is tastefully done (I may read it once the local library gets it). However, there were plenty of female lore characters who needed models, or commissars, or what have you, before her.
That said, she does set a good precedent that previously book-only characters could get models. Perhaps we all need to bug GW about it to get more model goodness.

She seems to be a general release model that's just first available at the Black Library Celebration, confirmed by the red bar at the bottom of the release details page in WD.

The model looks good, but yet another book series about a commissar? Meh.
"The Nova Terra Interregnum has been remembered unfairly by those few who remember it at all. True, many malcontents, provocateurs and petty lordlings flocked to its banner when it seceded. But its attempts to contain the aggressive expansion of the Ecclesiarchy were born from an honest desire to uphold those values at the hart of the Great Crusade. It is ironic that the last gasp of the Emperor's true vision was finally throttled at the hands of those who fought in His divine name, on the planet that once reminded our Lord of 'Urf, long ago...'"

Well I love the sculpt but its resin. Yes I know its not finecast but when i got the Eisenhorn model, the resin casting was shocking. Large air bubbles, missed detailing and the null staff he carries was more like a twiglet! Still some terrible casting they are using.
GW may well reign supreme in the plastic model stakes, but for some reason they lag terribly in resin. I have a friend who runs a small modelling company doing resin sculpts for a number of 3rd party businesses and his own vacuum/centrifuge resin sculpts are great....he says its likely down to the type of resin they use as he reckons that's the problem GW are having. He uses very high end resin and reckons the GW stuff is the cheap stuff.
I am not a GW basher, Im actually a total fan boy, but their resin is a total turn off for me. The oddest thing for me is, when I sit down resin sculpts from Forgeworld next to GW ones they are totally different. Different colour, different consistency and different texture when cut.

I'll definitely get it - I just started an Imperial Guard army, and I have all the opportunity to adjust the theme to make her fit 😁

Okay, so she's like Eisenhorn from last year. Nice! That means I DON'T need to spend 70 bucks on just her, but instead can get the store Birthday models as well

Looks like a very good model, but uh...who?
I come here to discuss and find out about Warhammer 40,000 with people of every ethnicity, sexuality, country and yes, as sickening as it is, even Eldar players.

I do find it hilarious that some people were saying the size of newer marine stuff looks great next to regular humans like Cadians, and then GW upsized the humans so they are the same height as marines again
