Index Imperialis: Assassins in March

Recommended Posts

Interesting. So it’s looking like the white dwarf will be spotlighting a different army or faction each month, and not just space marines. February is a storm cast eternal faction. That’s pretty cool.

For Assassins I’m hoping we get a special detachment for taking just one of them that doesn’t cost cp. Or a rule that allows them to be taken in imperial army detachments without canceling “chapter tactics” rules. And of course awesome strats and stuff!

I expect each of them will get at least one strategem.  It'd be great if one could be an hq or something like that.  Super unlikely just wishlisting here a new assassin model maybe the poison one.

If memory serves, a Q&A GW did a while back indicated that they'd be focussing assassins and Inquisitors into KT rather than run-of-the-mill 40k. I'd bet good money that this is a KT expansion, perhaps exclusively so.

^I hope so.

While I would love an easier way to include assassins in regular/cities of death WH40K, I would also love to include them in Kill team. Even if it was just 1 or 2 either on their own or added to an imperial faction kill team. Imagine the themed teams we could create

Eh, while inquisition certainly fits into KT, I don’t really see how Assassins could even make a normal kill team. Assuming their stats don’t get completely butchered in a fluff breaking way, you could never have more than 1-2 models. Some special game modes like whole kill team VS single Assassin boss etc would obviously work though.

In Shadow War: Armageddon (the late ancestor of th modern Kill Team) there were rules for one-model Kill Teams (like Sly Marbo). It might be something similar.

It might also be a small stand-alone Codex to update their rules from the Index and give them a bit more background, tough

Yeah, but those were not normal teams that could play any mission/campaign but only for special “team vs single unit” missions.
