Wyrdvane Psykers to Astropaths conversion?

The most distinctive features of astropaths are their blindness, green robes and use of the Adeptus Astra Telepathica symbol (the eye with radiating lines; or surmounting an I). All three can easily be done with paint without too much conversion..

Honestly, I don't think anyone would care if you just played a wyrdvane as an astropath. Wyrdvanes kind of suck, so everyone would probably assume that you're playing it as an astropath or primarus psyker. If you're unsure of the conversion, you can always just buy the regimental advisor set. You'll get an astropath, a master of ordinance and an officer of the fleet. It's a good set especially if you're going to use a regiment other than cadian or catachan. They're old metal models, so priming them is a must.

The model for “wyrdvane psykers” only got that name in the last few editions. They started out as “sanctioned psykers” in 4th and were individual psykers that could be attached to command squads (rolled randomly for powers with a chance to get no power at all - awesome). The astropath popped up in 5th edition and took over that role and sanctioned psykers (renamed Wyrdvanes in 6th) were moved to squads of their own. They used to do what astropaths do now.

So... yeah, use them however the hell you want. They may well be something entirely different in 9th edition.

If anyone complains, bite them.
