Rise, Children of the Four-Armed Emperor - ETL prep thread

The yearly ETL is slowly but surely upon us (usually starts in mid/late Spring and lasts for three months). The Xenos areas are a recent addition to the forum and so have much smaller communities than the usual ETL heavyweights. That said, with our erstwhile alien allies from the other subforums, perhaps this year we have a chance to take the crown that rightfully belongs to us?

With that in mind, I thought that starting a thread to coordinate our efforts to prepare for the ETL event. The idea is to cheer each other on while we each assemble and undercoat (and no more!) our models, but also to share tricks and avice that could help us come out as the victors of ETL VII.

So, who wants to give the other areas of the forum a good ETL thrashing? If you do, break out your glue and hobby knife! We have model assembly to get done! :biggrin.:

Edit: For those unfamiliar with the ETL, check out last year's event: http://www.bolterandchainsword.com/topic/346705-e-tenebrae-lux-vi/?do=findComment&comment=5067601

There’s a good chance I’ll be painting fro the Nids this year. Most years I’m on team DA, but I don’t believe I have anything unpainted for them. I’ve been debating between Nids and Chaos, but something tells me Chaos won’t be needing any help this year...

I’m going out on a limb and assuming the good Captain will be keeping faction breakdowns the same. So Nids and GSC will be combined?

Had the majority of my GSC from the Deathwatch Overkill box, which strangely gives you 16 Acolytes and 22 Neophytes. As I hate not having round numbers in squads, it gave me a great 'excuse' to convert the extras. Built a Nexos and Clamavus from the Neophytes and a Kelermorph from an Acolyte.

Next up is a Locus I feel

Oh, damn, you're right. I took part in my first one last year for my Deathwatch (and still haven't finished that army) and it was a lot of fun. Maybe I will hold back on doing anything with my GSC lists until it drops soon. :biggrin.:

Don't hold back on assembling models though! ;)

Yeah I'm going to get my lists finalized so I know what I'm building and start them. Now that I have my DW just about finished I have more free space on the table for new freshly unpainted plastic. Lol
