I can already see all the "It's Angron!" and "Berzerkers!!!" comments. And the inevitable disappointment that will follow.

Looks big, maybe two-handed. I'll go with Termies, although it could be regular CSM. Or Chosen, if we're lucky. Or a Lord, but I don't know about that one.

It sure looks like a terminator axe. One other option I can think of is a new chaos Lord captain equivalent, a generic no name HQ?

How many times you think he has to replace that skull? Such a terrible location for a trophy. You’re gonna break it every time you hit someone with it.

Well it's definitely a distinct chain-axe separate from the one held by the Aspiring Champion revealed at LVO. Unless The CSM datasheet is being updated to allow for more than just the Champion to take a chain-axe, It's probably from another kit.

I don't imagine Possessed will have any need for chain axes, so Terminators sounds like as good a guess as any to me. The other possibilities are that the CSM box will double as a Chosen box and will contain multiple chain axes, or the CSM datasheet has been updated has been changed to allow multiple models other than the Champion to take chain axes. Or (long shot) we are getting a separate infantry kit for Chosen or Havocs and this axe is from that kit.

Either way I'm excited. I don't imagine it's berzerkers though.

Is that a power axe on the back? It seems like there’s a power pack on there, unless that just powers the chainsaw.

That's the point - every new kill he takes a new head :D

Hm, this could be "anything". My first hought was Khorne Berzerkers ofcourse, but upon closer inspection, there is a chaos star part on there, so it's not khorne dedicated. Termies, chosen, chaos lord? Or a new daemon engine? :D Or maybe even a new DP kit? :D Naaaaah, I get on the bus to disappointment and say, that it will be Khorne Berzerkers! :D

But honestly, this looks more and more like a total revamp.

Now I kinda wish I had waited until this year before building my warlord... Oh well, I can always build another one... facepalm.png

Anyway, my money is on terminators too. Some of the older termie models used to have chainaxes aswell, seeing their return would be great!

As much as I want new berzerkers, the lack or Khornate iconography points to something else. Chainaxes for terminators would be a dream come true for me, honestly. Regardless of what unit this is from, it is a chainaxe, so my World Eaters will be happy!

If it is a terminator power axe this will be a heavy shift from the current design.  Totally possible but it could easily be on a normal CSM melee trooper as just a decorative Bob the skull chain axe.

For me the best part of the weapon is teeth of the axe and the non smooth edges creates an interesting design.  Lots of options for painting this one.

I do not know who will receive this cool toy. And I don't care. The only thing that matters to me is when I will get it.

CSM termies had "poweraxe" chainaxes back in 2nd ed. Just going back to normality... :)

Also, the cataphractii power axes looks like that too...

Take a moment and look those old axes even those have a very different feel being much heavier.  I'm not saying that it can't happen again but it is a heavy shift in the current style and the scaling would have this as a very light weapon.  It looks very close to the CSM model with a chain axe that we have already seen but a variant.

I'm not sure going back to a model retired at the end of 4th is going back to the normality but if most of your active collection is the old Terminators more power to you.  I think I have all 20 of my 2nd chaos terminators stripped, disassembled and in storage.  The scale between those terminators and the 4th ed counter parts is like normal marines to primaris.

Remove that very small chaos symbol and it'd be an excellent bit for Flesh tearers.

I'm excited no matter what it's intended for. Playing around with list ideas and fitting in the new units we know of, I had a few spare points for a handful of Chainaxes on some Chosen. The WHC gods provide!
