The haft to head size ratio is also not a good comparison. Sometimes when they upscale weapons the handle goes up the same amount. So there's really not a good measure of size from the picture alone.

GW are putting the full Alpharius into this effort.

Aside from Abaddon rumour months ago whispers have been locked down tight on this release and even in the final week before some kind of reveal with the clock at 8 days we are none the wiser for how big this release is. Impressive GW, very impressive...

Power armoured chain axe.

GW moved chaos termites to standard power axes instead of the power-chain-axes that the old metal terms and Khârn have. It's also missing the power cable plus stud gubbinz that extends into the powered surface of most power weapons (old metal terms included).

I love the teeth, always wanted something like this since reading Betrayer and reading that the Gore axes have micah/mica? Dragon teeth as the blades....AWESOME.

Gorechild has always been described as having mica-dragon teeth with no explanation of what that actually means.

This is all we know.

Luther Macintyre IX is an Imperial Death World; the entire planet covered in vast deserts. The sandstorms that plague this world are capable of flaying a man's skin from his bones.[4]

Luther Macintyre IX is also thought to be a possible Tomb World, as an Ambull colony was found on the Ice world Simia Orichalcae, having come through a Necron warp portal to that planet when the Necron portal was inadvertently activated by an Ork vessel exiting the warp over it. However, dozens of other planets have Ambull colonies, so it is equally likely that another planet with Ambulls was the origin of the creatures found on Simia Orichalcae.[1a][1b]

The world is also known to have contained Mica-dragons, the teeth of which were used to create the mighty chainaxes Gorechild and Gorefather, wielded by the World Eaters' primarch, Angron, and subsequently by his equerry, Khârn the Betrayer.[3]
