When are Daemons getting to play Kill Team?

Fair point about Custodes. It remains to be seen whether they actually get added to the core rules or just together with the Elite supplement though.

SfPanzer, i under stand where your coming from but again look at necrons.

Warrior=no options,

Immortal =gun1 or gun2

Deathmark=no options

Flayed one= no options

Also mention that50% of their units are elite units.

Daemons,

Bloodletters

Daemonettes

Plague bringers

Nurglings

Horrors(blues/pinks/brims)

Already way more options than necron a in just Tripp’s

Then you can think about flamers, screamers, hounds. Maybe even smaller squad restrictions if it’s to strong.

If GW wanted to them they could have. And mono god or not, I would love to be able to play my daemons in kill team even if it’s not the best. Also all those mono daemon plays are no strangers to a lack of variety or choice. Mono god builds have 1 option for lost force organization slots maybe 2?

I'm not talking about options on indivdual models/units.

Yes Firewarriors don't have any options (though technically not quite correct as they can have Pulse Carbines, or Pulse Blasters as Breachers, instead of their Pulse Rifles), however the T'au as a faction have access to not just Firewarriors but also Pathfinders (with three weapon options), Stealth Suits (with two weapon options) and a total of 7 different Drones. Also a DS8 turret with two weapon options a Firewarrior can deploy. Compared to that Daemons have up to 7 different units depending on whether you want to play mono-god or not and whether we include the two reasonable non-basic options in form of Seekers and Khornedogs ... and none of them have any option. Most people would want to play a mono god kill team so they'd be stuck with just one or two different kinds of units with zero options. How can you even compare that?

Necrons have similarly few options (if you go with a multi-god daemon team), that's true, but here's the difference: All but one of them are ranged with weapons of different kinds and they are quite durable for their points while Daemons are all but one option melee and not that durable for their points and Kill Team with their hit modificators and stuff is mostly designed for ranged skirmishing. Sure there are teams like Orks who want to get into melee as well but you really don't want to face an Ork melee list with your Daemons as your Daemons aren't any cheaper but can't even shoot with pistols and stuff.

Most of the specialisms would be a waste on Daemons too leaving you with only an extremely limited range of options.

In case anyone missed it, daemons are arriving for KT as Darnok found:

Finally! Chaos Daemons will get rules for Kill Team at last:

Face Your Daemons

As if that wasn’t already cool enough, we’ve also got a set of rules that enable you to field kill teams of dreaded Chaos Daemons as well!

As found on Warhammer Community.

I'm pleased to see it happen, as with the expansions there was no reason not to, I've been dabbling a reasonable amount in KT so it'd be great to get my daemons involved. That said as we have discussed in various places there is the concern about decent balance, especially for mono god builds. So we may need to hold our enthusiasm until we hear more...

Panzer has some unfortunately expected news for us: basic daemons only and little in favour of mono-god builds :sad.:

Found this on Facebook. Apparently we really only get the basic Daemons. Meh.

I wasn't expecting much more than this, but it does feel a bit lacklustre. A bit more character would have been nice but it's mostly the fact that mono-god would be limited, you'll have very little options and probably end up with running all but the same list each time? :confused: I'll give a Slaaneshi team a go next chance I get when I've got this WD and see how it goes.
