But is it really the last time we seen or heard of the Daemon Engine?
I took ballistics in school. Fascinating subject. Things go up! Things go down!
*Laughs in Heretic Astartes*
that pain job on the claw has a certain "lightning effect", could it possibly be a NL model?? plus that Chain-glaive in an earlier daemon engine also screams NL's
Lightning paint scheme because it's a lightning claw or because its a Night Lord? I guess we'll find out (Probably just lightning claw scheme)

Oh my ! Wouldn't that be nice to have Atramentars in 40k ? Night Lords have the potential for amazing looking models IMHO.
That said, doesn't anyone else get a "new codex vibe" out of all these pics ?
That claw looks sexy as hell!
Also RIP daemon rumour engine. You'll be missed as the competent version now that we're stuck with the budget version again.

It definitely feels like a new Codex but only because it replaces all the core models. ^^
Well maybe they have a new painter and he got the thumbs up to try this as a new look for lightning claws. .... I know they are a little costly for the effect this edition what what is the current cost of a LC?
Also I do like this look as it feels similar to the Talons of Horus.
*Sheds a tear for the Daemon Rumour Engine*
Has there ever been an occurrence when GW released models that were not in the current Codex but in the Campaign book?

Multiple times. ^^

Almost every time, going back as far as at least Shield of Baal (which is the oldest one I can remember in detail); that one introduced multiple new Tyranid units that weren't in the Codex.

I doubt it will be a Night Lords release/kit though. The pattern doesn't look very lightning-y to me. Looks more like cracks in the armour or something similar. If you look closely, it has spots of white/off-white where lines meet and only there, which doesn't seem consistent with how 'Eavy Metal have painted lightning on Night Lords models so far, AFAIK.
If anything, they took elements from the Night Lords armoury (chainglaive) and made them generic for everyone.

I believe that this is the method Duncan uses in his tutorial about painting Night Lord's Armor. I also doubt that we are getting a Night Lords "release" or even a character or plastic upgrade kit, but it's possible there will be some models painted up in NL colors for the back of the box or something.

This is in line with what I am expecting.
That's a sexy Terminator Lightning Claw right there. Hopefully my wishlisting of getting legion weapons/units inside Black Legion will happen. So a Terminator who was clearly a Night Lord but is now Black Legion for example.
Looks more like lava or a crack effect to me than lightning.
