Now that the ambull is out for blackstone fortress, we have a look at the datasheet and how it interacts with 40k. Though probably not intended for use within an army as a typical choice... it has the unaligned faction key word. Based on match play rules and forming an army, we could include an Ambull. Purely a thought exercise (because it may get fixed in the near future), what do you guys think of a 70 pt elite choice that can tunnel underground and do some pretty good melee damage? Mobius0288 Posted March 4, 2019 Author Share Posted March 4, 2019 The core rule book says you have to have faction keywords in common, with the exception of those that are UNALIGNED. The Battle Brothers rule negates that by changing the words, both negating the chaos and imperium key words, and not including the unaligned keyword. Otherwise, you would be able to include an Ambull in your army and not lose your Deathwatch keywords. It would literally have to be an Aux support choice and for DW, that's not a good option for us. shanewatts Posted March 4, 2019 Share Posted March 4, 2019 I am fairly certain that you will lose your Mission tactics if you include an Ambull in the same detachment, if memory serves all units in the detachment need the Deathwatch keyword.
