Legio Astorum walks

Recommended Posts

Greetings my fellow Princeps.

Finally i jumped onto the AT train. Since my plan to build up a 40k Titan legion failed, i thought an AT legion is more in favor of my wallet.

So i made my first shopping tour. I decided for Legio Astorum. I´m a fan of Astorum since FW released the Vraks Campaign books.

The Knights will become House Taranis. As a proud member of the House Taranis Owners Club there is no other option for me!:happy.:

Since the additional sprue, the one with the Sunfire, for the Warlord is still not aviable i bought the new Reaver sprue with the chain fist.

Yesterday i started with my first Warlord.

I gladly noticed that GW prepared the warlord kit for magnetization. Spared me some work:biggrin.: . Sadly i noticed that i don´t have the blue paints i wanna use not at hand. so all i can do for now will be the metalic and yellow parts.

No, i don´t have the paints at hand. I want a certain blue and those paints are at my other domicile. Two weeks till i can grab them and start painting in earnest.

But i made some pprogress. Today i build the Reaver, magnetized and primed him. Finally i shaded both titans.

A small update. During the last days i assembled the rest of my stuff. I heeded the wisdom of my fellow Princeps and magnetized the Warhounds. Tomorrow i wanna start with the bases.

Can´t decide which head to use for my first Reaver. I like them both.

Damn, the batteries of my camera died away just bevor the last pic i wanted to take. Okay, tomorrow!

Looking good. I find it kind of funny how the two of us have approached our Astorum titans completely in opposite ways, but probably heading for a similar result. I’m also thinking of having my guys overrunning trenches, but I’ve done no work on them at all and just done the titans themselves. Your bases are great but now I really want to see how you go about painting your big stomps robots.

Okay, just a small sneaky snap of the Warlord.

The blue and yellow are done. Still much work with the Gold.

I thought about going ahead with the Reaver. But with the arrival of the additional weapon sprue for Invitus Depulsor i will go ahead with that and a Warhound.

Your bases are incredibly effective. The craters and texture paints have worked really well. AT has led to me using technical paints in anger for the first time and I'm amazed at how a bit of drybrushing and washing really brings them alive. Looking forward to seeing your finished tranches too.
