Bringers of Despair - new Terminator sculpt?

I've been looking at the pictures on the Warhammer community website for the pre-release sneak peek that shows a squad of Black Legion Terminators, and I can't tell if that is a new sculpt or not.  Could someone who is an expert at discerning details tell me if that is a new sculpt?  Thanks.

Looks like old kits with new weapon sprue?

If it is a 100% new kit, imo it is a totally failure. A new kit should make customers "Ouch! It is decades better than the old ones", not to make customers check the details of the photo carefully, and confirm "yes, it is new kit".

@Tokugawa- i guess your cup is half empty then eh :ermm:  yeah its a total failure and no one at all is going to buy them....:happy.: .....Not... :tongue.:

I think the wording "Subtle differences" is key here...

Uh there's no need to check the details carefully. The comparison is just helpful because they are this close in design. The new models ARE miles better. If you think it looks like an old kit with new weapon sprues you need to get your eyes checked. :D

I too thought they were the old ones at first, but I think that's because the only chaos terminators I've built were the terminator lord/sorcerer model (I've built and painted one of each).  And the new terminators are very similar as to detail and aesthetics to those.

Which isn't a bad thing - if I'm mistaking the new models for one of the better character kits, that means the new models are pretty darn good.

That said, I hope they aren't bigger than the character terminator - I'm not keen on buying a set of terminators only to find they make my characters look like dwarves.

I am just hoping that they don’t absolutely dwarf all my other Terminators!! If they do by a lot, I may not even get them which would be kind of sad as they are lovely models. On a plus though, my Lord is based on Zhufor so he should be comparable in stature. Even better, he can now be used as a mini Abaddon with the re-rolls stratagem.

Price-wise I'm guessing the same as the CSM kit but for 5 models rather than 10.

Looks-wise, these are the only ones I'm disappointed about.  They don't look different enough.  The fact so many people are confused about whether or not they are new speaks volumes.  They are still cool models, but the fact they pretty much look identical to the other ones just a bit bulkier means I like them the least of the new releases (So like they are a 7/10).

Someone elsewhere put a funny thing forward though:  These might be the last Indomitus pattern Terminators we ever see for 40k since it's likely Primaris Marines are going to have their own equivalent.

Wonder how much they will cost if the csm box is £35.

I would put them about the same. Same price but for fewer Models.

I ain't in the UK, but the CSM box is £35, which is the same as Intercessors. Intercessors over here in the US are $60. The Aggressors/Inceptors are $50.

Terminators might follow suit, less models, but only marginally less expensive? Maybe?

Aggressors are 3 models a box, that's why they're cheaper than 10.

Genestealer Acolytes are 5 for the same price Neophytes are for 10.

I know what you mean but Chaos Terminators don't need revamping. They were just a half decent kit disadvantaged by being produced just before GW invested in the equipment to do them justice.

I'm gonna have to get one or two boxes of the new termies, aswell as a squad of Justaerin. I need to convert some terminators of the Aphotic Blade... and version no.4 of my Chaos Lord.

My Chaos Lord is converted from a Custodes Aquilon terminator, so I never have to worry about him getting dwarfed :P

It's less of a scale problem and more of a matter of him fitting into the design of the new range... at the moment, he looks a little too much like a Heresy-era praetor. Be that as it may, I'm super excited for those termies, I hope we'll see a new chaos lord too... even if I've had my expectations lowered by the Night Lords focus.
