Daemons and traitor Astartes are back! GK rally?

Brothers, with the warp scourge and tainted Astartes back in force, can we expect to see the GKs return in some form or other? After all, where there be Daemons there be Grey Knights. Unless the prognosticars are taking a momentous tea break...

Seriously though, any rumours that GK will be getting GW attention?

I don't agree about GW not caring about GK, however I do agree that there's nothing to expect. Just because GK are the anti-Daemon force of the Inquisition it doesn't mean they can be everywhere at the same time and it's not like regular Marines are completely incapable of handling such things. It's simply not the time for GK to shine just yet (rules-wise).

This picture is likely all the attention we're getting.

Black Legion needs some boys to beat to show how cool they are. And Primaris are too cool for that purpose, so GK fits perfectly.

They care enough to give bare minimum rules, so players who already own the army, can field it. I still hope, it is not permament. and some day we will get renewed primaris-like minis too. But until then, some specialist detachments in campaigns/WD and more point cost drops in CA are the best things we can hope for.

Never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity.

GW have always been inconsistent with their attention and balancing quality. However ultimately they profit the most by giving everyone good and fun rules so there's no reason why they would want GK to not be good as well. Primaris is a weak argument considering that regular Marines are still the strongest by including only extremely few Primaris if at all.

I don't think that "not caring" is a malice. 20% of input gives 80% of result. There are factions that waited for years before update. GK are no different. GW will profit not from giving everyone good rules, but mere to the large part. If a single faction falls out, it will change nothing for them. Not caring for GK is their right.

Primaris may not make us top-1 faction, but this will be an update, and GK will benifit from any single update right now. We could compete other tier 3 factions, for example.

Just read article about big faq in April. They said. "Warhammer 40000 is in a pretty good place at the moment, so there won’t be any seismic changes, just a handful of balancing tweaks". Obviously, this won't change anything for us. I guess, deepstrike beta rule would be taken as it was in the last FAQ too.

And now Chaos has piece of terrain that makes psykers peril on any doubles. Since new relentless havocs will shred any MEQs with heavy 8 5/-1/1, we've got another very bad match-up. But rerelease of codex: space marines is inevitable. I wonder, if we'll got re-release too. If GW cares for a single bit about GK, we have to get renewed codex at least with new prices and a couple of tweaks. Or they will even fix some major problems. This is just a possibility, nothing that I'd bet on.

Chaos already had a Daemon character that made psykers peril on doubles so it's not exactly something new. The Rotor cannon Havocs however are just sick. They can easily buff a squad of 4 of them to 64 shots with +1 to-wound and you can't even alpha strike them because there's a specialist detachment with Havocs included that allows them for 1CP to shoot after the opponents movement phase if the opponent went first.

I think this is only working in the first turn and the weapon range is 24"

You just need to stay away first turn and way reinforcement to deep strike everything turn 2

Of course it's only first turn and 24" is plenty to delete a unit of choice.

Yes, but master of possession aura is only 12, while Crown covers 24". Not the main problem, but still unpleasant.

Not talking about the Master of Possession. The Infernal Enrapturess can do it at 24" as well and costs only 80p (and comes with what's basically a 24" Lascannon hitting on 2+).

GK will have a new codex when (and if) they’ll have new models. Since SM probably will have a new one within the year and sister will be released around christmas it is unlikely that Gk will have anything new within this year.
