Order of the Argent Rose

Recommended Posts

Recently took some time to take pics of my sisters set up as a whole, finished to wip stuff shown.

Shown is Finished models and some wip models, off the top of my head i got at least a cannoness still in blister pack and 2 immolators to put together. The 2 vehicles I have finished I have converted to wheels the other two immolators will also have wheels at some points I'd like to either find, convert, or kit bash a flyer that is like a black hawk or huey with ospray wings that use jet engines and not rotors for the atmosphere/void flight capable. A Valkyrie is an option I just don't like how the wings are.

General fluff idea for my Order.

The order was founded on an Imperial naval and trading port world that still retains sizable temperate pine forests with hive cities that are each their own port but also seen as on the small size for hive cities. It was formed to partly be a standing force to counter very local threats and their presence as a symbol of the emperor for the local populace and also to boost the standard Imperial Guard force with military force similar to the way police have the swat when needed. A mix of volunteers from from a few Orders, mostly Sacred Rose, Argent Shroud, and a small few from Bloody Rose, and Martyred Lady after a short while and a few events (Heavily involved in quelling a traitor uprising and eliminating a chaos invasion that had a touch of nurgle to it) they were unified under one banner "Order of the Argent Rose". Saints of the order referencing the historical Saint Hildegard of Bingen (historical saint, studied botany and was ill and sick through her life) as a Hospitaler that was key in curing the sick and ill during the Nurgal assisted chaos invasion attempt and the reason the orders robes are green, and the other "Dunane Knuton" (obvious refrence to Deunan Knute from appleseed) simply as a highly skilled battle sister key in causing the collapse of a traitor uprising, She could be a serephim but is a little bit of a rebel. With their deployment methods on their home world their rhino chassis vehicles have been converted from tracks to wheels.

Besides their usual duties at the various chapels in the cities, acting as security for several reasons vip escort, important shipments, assisting pilgrims.  Some of their mundane military engagements can be described to police engagements that require SWAT intervention like when the local Enforcers and Guard discover chaos worshiping renegade mutants in the middle of the woods, the Sisters are called in to remove it.

Pics in spoilers as they are big

Not bad. What do the Order's colors symbolize? The gray of steel, to show strength and/or unity (steel is an alloy, a union of iron and carbon to create a material stronger than its individual components)? The copper of, well, copper (an Arbiter's badge), to show they enforce the Emperor's law?

For the army colors, I chose to go with grey armor in the same way I was painting my space wolves at the time because I was enjoying the end results of the color selections on the model (black primer, Codex grey base, fortress grey heavy dry brush, white dry brush, delvin mud ink wash, light white dry brush). Played around with the online army painters and ended up with Green robes and white accents on the shoulders and helm, though I had a strong feeling I was gonna do green robes before I started messing with the army painters because I had done some green accents on some of my space wolves and wanted to use it as a main color for my sisters. When creating some fluff and using a DIY order generator on 1d4chan and some online discussions, the grey armor is a loose refrence to "Argent", Silver or silvery white in heraldry, where silver is basically a metallic grey.  Then for the green robes, fluff wise the order started with Red but then after eliminating a nurgal backed chaos invasion and the marterdom of a sister (who is a reference to the historic Saint Hildegard of Bingen) the order changed their robes to green.

Quelling of a Traitor uprising was the first event to unify the order under one set of colors rather than a group of volunteers from multiple orders.

Great collection. Love the predator/ immo cross. Also, tell me more about the canines... Foxes? Makes me think of kitsune/ werefoxor or the nine tailed Inari.

Nice work.

Thanks, the foxes are from my space wolf army in my diy chapter for them. Fluff wise they would be gifts from my SM chapter to the Order.

Cool.I've been thinking about gifts between Imperial factions. Once the cult activity on the planet increases to the point that my IG garrison receives it's Airwing detachment, I'm hoping the sisters fight closely enough with IG that they receive a Valkyrie as a gift. I've always wanted to kit out a valkyrie with spare bits of immo bling.

Unless GW changed in in the guard 8th Ed codex... Valkyries belong to the imperial navy not the AM

...however having said that GW/BL allowed the phallentine regiments to be flyers....

Right- forgot about that. It still works though. There's  a campaign event that will trigger the arrival of three Valkyries, along with a Master of the Fleet. I might put some troops or veterans in the ships to round out the detachment, but the mission I have planned involves the sisters escorting the Master of the Fleet from the Landing site to the garrison under fire from cultists while the Valkyries protect their retreat by occupying the Hell Drakes.

Recently ordered some stuff online to put together a SoB land raider. So far its just the parts for the base land raider and looking for inspiration for what to do. I've seen some *heavily* converted SoB land raider, but I'm looking more on the kit bash side like the predator I've done before that was mostly a kit bash and not much converting. Tracks to wheels, extra turret ring from the rhino turret bit for the razerback/pred. Was thinking of using and extra Immolator turret for the twin HB/assault cannon spot on the land raider and I'm looking for other ideas in addition perhaps waiting till the new SoB vehicles come out to use bitz from them like the new SoB rhino upgrade sprew.

here's the Predator that I did, as you can see it's mostly a kit bash and little converting was done.
