Tervigon alternatives

Hive mind,

I have a couple questions about modeling a tervigon.

First, they're ugly as sin. That big gross blob under it is hideous. I'd like to find an alternative, or a way to convert them. Since the swarm has lots of burrowing stuff, I was thinking maybe some sort of open hole? Any ideas?

Secondly, I got a cheapy off ebay, but it's half painted, not primed (so I assume the paint that IS on it doesn't have a base layer), and glued together. Is there a stripper that will dissolve the glue and/or the paint so I can dissemble, base, paint, then re-assemble?

thanks!

How about placing eggs on the base in various states of hatching? Could have the tervigon (minus sack) guarding the eggs.

Depends on what paint it is - there's a nice selection of paint & stripping fluid combination being tested in the following vid:

*snicker*

So the open hole at the front of the Tervi that the gants are coming out of doesnt work?

Your issue is that whatever orifice you decide on also has to have gnashing teeth, crushing claws, and spinebanks, or whatever, and be the same size as the Tervigon.

To be honest, I'd just model the tervigon without the egg sac, and then put 5 - 10 gants on the ground all around it. For me that would effectively convey what the model represents. You can say shes summoning them from the back lines, or something. They come from the same place that the stratagem gants come from.

Thanks for the idea Xenith. hopefully it doesn't clutter the base too much, but a couple running gants will do for now

Once you remove the egg sa, there should be plenty of space beneath the tervigons chest to add a swarm of critters. I'd throw in some rippers also to really drive home the idea.

I might just do this myself, actually, I've been wanting to use the egg sac in a Tyrannocyte conversion for a while!
