Terminators for the win. It really feels like this guy was designed for the space marine heroes series 2.
He definitely looks like we was sculpted alongside Heroes Series 2. Same base style, feet are probably molded into it.
I just hate that huge decoration on his back/top. How are you going to fit in the corridors of a space hulk with that jazz on your armour?

I long for proper proportions and a design that looks actually human.
But...but....
the people here told me there will never be another regular Space Marine release...its all about Primaris now
they were so sure of themselves....
In all seriousness, model looks great. I hope its it plastic, and you know he's an important character since he's stepping on a thing
That argument doesn't work. It's a single event specific model, not a general release. That's like saying we got new Noise Marines and they all have guitars just because of that one model we got last christmas.
For those wondering, this is called "moving the goal posts".

The face looks like a muscly John French.
What were the last normal marines released? There's been the odd special model like those Japanese exclusives and this. Will there ever be more regular marines or is it Primaris Town from now on?

The last official word was that they didn’t know weather or not they were going to continue with “Classic Marines”. This was at a Q&A when Primaris were released so I forget who specifcly it was that said it. This and the Space Marine Heroes series could be new designs or they could be old designs which are being used up now instead of going to waste. No one really has a definitive answer as of yet. What were the last normal marines released? There's been the odd special model like those Japanese exclusives and this. They shall be my finest warriors, these men who give of themselves to me. Like clay I shall mould them, and in the furnace of war forge them. They will be of iron will and steely muscle. In great armour shall I clad them and with the mightiest guns will they be armed. They will be untouched by plague or disease, no sickness will blight them. They will have tactics, strategies and machines so that no foe can best them in battle. They are my bulwark against the Terror. They are the Defenders of Humanity. They are my Space Marines and they shall know no fear.

No it's not. When people said there probably won't be anything for classic marines anymore they always only talked about general releases, not some special event model, made to order or whatever else GW might come up with. If you read those comments differently it's on you.

In terms of general squad box releases before Primaris, the last regular marine squad box was the Deathwatch kill team.
There have been quite a few normal marine releases after Primaris came out though, that aren’t your typical squad box release. Both series of Space Marine Heroes (totalling 20 models) and this guy coming up from GW studio, and from FW we have had Kasan Sabius and Sirae Karagon, the Culln Leviathan Dreadnought, Gabriel Angelos, the new version of the Thunderhawk, and new chapter doors for the land raider and rhino.
You can say there haven’t been any general release classic marine squad boxes come out since Primaris, but it is demonstrably false to say there have been no classic marine release at all since Primaris came out.

I think it's meant to be a Grey Knight.
Note the wrist-mounted stormbolter and signature aegis.

What UK events will be selling these (and this year’s)? UK Games Expo maybe?
I don't think we know for certain, but UK Game Expo seems like a good bet, as there's a significant GW presence with multiple tournaments there this year.

The model lacks the key elements that are signatures of the Grey Knights, though:I think it's meant to be a Grey Knight.
Note the wrist-mounted stormbolter and signature aegis.
- Engravings in the armour
- Vertical shield rims on the shoulder pads
- Knees part of lower leg armour
- Grey Knight style aegis (the type used on the event model is typical for Adeptus Astartes psykers)
- Other stylistic elements typical to Grey Knights models such as the sword motif
The doo-dads and symbols used on the event model are typical for Adeptus Astartes librarians based on the Codex Astartes (horned skull, book).
I think it's more likely that this is a generic librarian that may be used as a Grey Knights librarian.

It's 100% generic and as such lends credence to the theory it may originally have been intended for release as part of Space Marine Heroes 2 or certainly designed alongside those models.

Yeah, feels like a Space Marine Heroes 2 model to me as well. Definitely going to try and get my hands on one for my Deathwatch (which is where my other SMH2 Terminators went)
