Master_Trajan Posted April 6, 2019 Share Posted April 6, 2019 What are the best units of our golden guys to get a chance of counter che current meta of orks, plague bearers, genestealer cults and hordes ? I would say the good old bikes, but with CA you need troops or in certain missions you can't just have a chance. At the same time, custodian guards aren't great dealing with hordes, so I don't see custodes in a good position right now: what do you think about? The all bikes and IG battalion list and the footstodes with Wardens and Assassins list do OK. It can largely depend on your personal meta and how good your tables are. Last Saturday I've won a 1750 points match against new chaos space marines bringing footstodes battalion with Telemon support and a deepstrike detachment with Aquilon, Achillus and an Allarus SC. shanewatts Posted April 8, 2019 Share Posted April 8, 2019 The big thing is there is 2 major lists, one that focuses on footstodes (similar to what you are running) and another that focuses on bikes. Bikes have the advantage vs hordes and footstodes have the advantage vs knights. EDIT: This past year there was a footstodes player who was doing very well, even vs hordes. With the inclusion of the FW units there is a ton of variations that can be done based on those 2 types. I prefer a bike themed list and I have done well in the competitive scene with it in various forms. All of the tourneys I have done have been 2k, is 1750 common in your area?
