Slasher956 Posted April 8, 2019 Share Posted April 8, 2019 I would hazard a guess that (like a lot of the specialised detachments) its centred on fluff not game play. And as this one is based around the Saim Hann wild rider clans, in the old fluff aspect warriors step away from the clan & so would not be part of the Clan muster in time of war but rather part of the aspects muster. Closet Skeleton Posted April 8, 2019 Share Posted April 8, 2019 Shining Spears are good and Specialist detachments are trying to avoid the rich get richer issues with 7th ed formations. But there's also the fluff justification that Aspect Warriors (military specialists) are not Windriders which are a subset of Guardians (Eldar militia). A bike army can't be all shining spears under the rule of three. 2. Bike armies aren't top tier Eldar lists. 3. The Windrider host makes windriders and vipers just plain more flexible.
