Brother Dallo Posted May 5, 2019 Share Posted May 5, 2019 Hi folks, I thought I'd share some progress shots. This is where my guy is at currently. This is him alongside a few of his gang mates, who I'm painting up alongside him. Sadly the other three were too far along to use for this painting event, but it's been nice to get some more paint on them. Finally, here is a WIP of what is likely to be my next entry. There are still bits that need cleaned up, but I'm liking where the conversion is going. Turns out pox walkers are pretty tall models. Apologies for the photo quality. Chances are you're going to have a Ganger with an Autogun in your final gang, so i'd recommend starting there. It's an easy, stock-standard first boast. As for colour scheme - I find they work best with dark neutral colours for the leather vests and pants, light neutral colours for the shirts and groin cloth and then a bright accent colour in there somewhere (weapon casing, armoured shoulders, bandanas etc) Of course, you could always do the original 80's/90's Bon Jovi throwback with blue jeans, white shirts and black leather jackets... -Ran Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I rarely bother with anything more than vague recipes when it comes to things like armour and stuff. Skin tones I just make it up as I go along. They're not something that's universal in life, they all vary a bit so I'm happy for my models skin to vary too. That said, I know I started off with Rhinox Hide and an earthy green mixed in - maybe Castellan Green. For shading I just added black. For highlighting I added some red (no idea which red, but tbh the exact shade doesn't matter) to contrast with the green and make it look more natural, then just added white for more highlights until I was happy with it. video does a fantastic job of explaining it. CaptainDangerous Posted May 8, 2019 Share Posted May 8, 2019 If what Iv done is against the spirit of the event then please reduce my pledge to 10 Brood brothers for house Goliath in the settlement, and 10 genestealer hybrids for the Outlaws at the toll crossing. I’ll be painting them all anyway, but I don’t feel that 41 models is an overly amount of minis for 8 weeks work, and genestealer cults are completely old school canon in the Outlanders supplement. Ranulf Posted May 8, 2019 Author Share Posted May 8, 2019 (edited) It's all good CaptainDangerous, all of the boasts (with the exception of the Purestrain Genestealers and the little guys) are covered by the GW's current rules for GSC in Necromunda. I've simply renamed them for their current rule equivalents in the game. We've allowed a little leeway in the campaign rules to allow for the creativity of members and the use of conversions to represent things that don't currently have miniatures.
