2k ad mech, just starting

just getting into ad mech and thought I'd throw together a 2k list with what I have and get people's thoughts.

 

 

Double battalion, all comers list:

 

1st battalion:

 

HQ's:

Tech-priest dominus  Omnisian axe, volkite blaster, macrostubber 90

Tech-priest dominus  Omnisian axe, volkite blaster, macrostubber 90*

 

Elites:

Cybernetica Datasmith  power fist, gamma pistol   41**
sicarian infiltrators (10-man) stub carbine x5, power sword x5, flechette blaster x5, taser goad x5 180

 

 

Troops:

Rangers (5-man)   galvanic rifle x3, omnispex, arquebus x2 72

None of the Ad mech I have is assembled.... yet; so this is mostly me trying to figure out how I want to kit things before I build them.

The above is mostly what I have, plus Cawl and 5 more rangers/vanguard. 

 

*If I had a second enginseer I'd expect 2 dominus and 2 seers, is more practical than 3 dominus and 1 seer.

**Based on some of the other threads I've read, I think the data smiths aren't that points efficient, so they're really just filler at this point. 

 

 

 

I haven't settled on a forgeworld yet, but I was thinking Stygies or Metalica.

I am a newb myself to admech, but I think you are burning way too many points on dominus.

If you get some techpriests you could put the onagers in their own detachment for some extra CP.

Also remember if you want to take Cawl he can only effect MARS units.

I am a newb myself to admech, but I think you are burning way too many points on dominus.

If you get some techpriests you could put the onagers in their own detachment for some extra CP.

Also remember if you want to take Cawl he can only effect MARS units.

 

Cawl's RE-ROLLS only affect mars units.  His REPAIR ability affects all Imperium units, not just Mars, which makes him the only means I know of for repairing titans.

Noted on the extra detachment option though.

Forgeworld Titans yes, but all the admech HQs can repair Imperial Knights.

If you want Cawl but don't want to run all mars you could also use him for the HQ of that spearhead detachment mentioned, and run those guys mars. Thus making use of his rerolls.
