Sure that's perfectly fine and unless there's some Vindicare that rolls hot the Apostle should be fine as long as at least the Rhino and the embarked units lives.

Not sure what you mean by that second part there. I was suggesting putting the Apostle in the transport right before the transport moves so it would be an embarked unit, protected by the prayer enhanced transport.

Prayers are beginning of game turn, not your turn, so if your opponent goes first, she shoots before you embark, and prayer ends before her next turn, right?

Gotcha. Yeah, either way though you get extra defense on your transport first turn, that's still a whole round of shooting it can whether better. Also. if fire is being dumped at the Apostle it's not being dumped at the Transport. If you position the Apostle behind the transport you can place other units on the sides to block LoS. It's definitely more effective if you go first though.

 

You could just keep the Apostle out of the transport the whole time too. Cultists are still the cheapest troop spot filler, so you could try using the new specialist detachment for apostles and cultists. Deploy Apostle behind Rhino, Cultists on either side of Apostle (to block sniping), send Rhino up first with a buff, follow up with Cultists and Apostle.

 

It's slower, but you can also just use a Cultist Screen to march your Berzerker up the field. Cultists benefit from the same prayer and power. Also, because your Berzerkers would be slogging it, you can have a larger unit now.

 

Maybe a combination would be nice. 1 Berzerker squad with buffing characters in a transport, followed by Apostle and Cultists, followed by a big Berzerker horde.

Not sure thos is how its meant to be played but my local opponents reading of the rules on line of sight means no units screen shooting, ever. “I can see your pistol under the front units armpit!” (2 mm of the model) and RAW is OK Edited by Syrakul

Normally true, however characters are an exception. You can't shoot at characters with less than 10 wounds unless it's the closest enemy model.

Sorry, locally we allow enemy units to block line of sight. It's probably more vestigial than intentional. Technically the rules also say that each MODEL determines line of sight as it fires, determined by looking from that model's point of view. This means if LoS is in question, for each MODEL you want to fire with you must look from their eye level to see if you can see the intended target unit through the screen. Also, your model's own unit doesn't block it's line of sight, so technically, if LoS is in question, you might have to temporarily pull your own unit's models off of the board so they aren't physically in the way of determining LoS. Official LoS rules are a little obsurd in this regard, my opinion. If you try to tell me your whole unit has LoS through a 20+ MODEL screen, I'm going to make you prove it. But sfPanzer is absolutely correct.

 

Edit: line of sight is from any point on the model to any point on a target model, this is in the Design Commentary rather than actual rules or FAQ, for some reason.
