SwashBuccaneer
Looking for some cool ideas on paint schemes for some guardsmen allies. I don't want to go crazy on them as I wanna get em painted up and on the table. Not a fan of the boring green and tan and looking for something possibly fluffy and matching. :D
sockwithaticket
Inquisition Storm Troopers are typically depicted as red and black. Ordo Xenos will have some, add a silver shoulder pad with red ][ symbol and they are in DW colours. SwashBuccaneer 1 Back to top
SwashBuccaneer
Nice. I initially bought some Scions stuff and painted a few of them up as box art but now picked up some cadians to get more cheap bodies. Wonder how the cadians would look in read and black. Syward
How about shades of gray? would stand out apart from your DW, but the gray will still match your DW units. Light gray for the cloth, dark gray for the body armor/helms? Something like this maybe? http://www.bolterandchainsword.com/igbeta2.php?b62c=@hDcqP_hNYhv.hXmlR@_.i9u2nhQIuc..@@@hQIuc___i9u2ni9u2n.._@@iakk7& Edited April 16, 2019 by Syward SwashBuccaneer 1 Back to top
SwashBuccaneer
Great idea as well and what I was starting to think as well. Should be easy and fast to paint that way too. Syward 1 Back to top
HighMarshalAmp
Just as it is with T'au, every paint you slap on there is fluffy. Every scheme can have some reason to exist. In some books, it's said that there's Millions of Regiments, and as you can see above, even a single Regiment can have multiple schemes. Now if by 'fluffy' you just mean 'already established by GW', you... are kinda missing out on half the fun. But I get it, I like to stick to what's already out there as well since it turned out that my Homebrew Loyalist Chapter used the same scheme as the Heresy Era Emperor's Children 'Possibly fluffy' to me means actually just accepting that if you don't like any scheme in the Codex, you make up your own. 'and matching' to me means any two colors that look good together with either silver or gold to pick out the details. And you know best which colors you like. I'd say black and purple, but that's just me Also, it would clash terribly with the DW's red accents... SwashBuccaneer
Awesome stuff. By fluffy I was meaning if there were any known documented incidents of a specific regiment that worked with the deathwatch closely and what their colors were. I know storm troopers were mentioned earlier and was why I originally bought some scions but they are pricier than Cadians and at this point I need some meat for the grinders. :D
HighMarshalAmp
Now that peaked my interest and I went through all available synopses of any Deathwatch-centered publications. Zilch. Inquisitors seem to team up with them a lot and they work together with Space Marine Chapters and even Eldar at one point, but nowhere are IG allies mentioned. Maybe you should follow this thread I started in the Black Library section - I know I will ;) SwashBuccaneer 1 Back to top

ScionOfCorlesia
I'm primarily a Tempestus Scion player, however one of my side projects is to get some Deathwatch allies going with their own branch of my Tempestus regiment. Here's a couple of my Ordo Xenos themed Scions. I'll spoiler them.
