Brother Clavero
I would like to add some aquarium plants to my jungle bases but don't like the plastic sheen look that they have. My question is, if I were to paint them, would they need to be sanded or otherwise prepared so the paint will stick to them? Thanks!
binary
Clean them with a degreaser and hot water. That’ll remove the shiny wax coating. Then spray them with primer and paint your colour of choice. Stoic Raptor 1 Back to top
Toomanyprojects
A light rub with sandpaper will also do no harm in terms of giving the primer a ‘key’. But beware of the flexibility of those plants - the paint could simply crack at the points where the plastic structure is bending D3L 1 Back to top

salixstar
personally i just dump a load of green and/or brown wash on the plastic plants looks okay IMO and is nice and quick https://www.flickr.com/photos/170671855@N07/32641520647/in/photolist-RJqjSK Brother Clavero 1 Back to top
