I Am curious if anyone has made a 40k army of Sons of Horus marines that resisted the Black Legion and survived. I was considering the idea myself and looking for inspiration. Any short stories or photos of chaos marines in the SoH colours would be perfect.

Inspire me!

I,m sure there's a warband called the true sons or something like that. They resisted abbadon and still wear sons colours.

I've concocted my own warband called the reborn son's. They worship horus as a god and see abbaddon as the ultimate traitor and heretic for killing horus reborn.

I considered using the HH SoH transfers with red, black gold paint scheme for modern BL before I decided on IW. I think Abaddon would let that slide if you were towing the line and not being so noticeably pro Horous in your proclamations/ convo's etc. Saying for and the Warmaster can be not as obvious. Sea green, with the old insignia is asking for trouble IMO.

There was also the Sons of the Eye.

I don't think a splinter of the Sons of Horus getting lost in the warp and reappearing much later is far fetched, stranger things do happen.

I actually got an answer from ADB about this on Twitter a while ago. He basically said virtually all surviving Sons of Horus are in the Black Legion, but there's of course room for other Warbands.

The True Sons are still active aren't they? They're called the thrice cursed traitors because they reject Abaddon's leadership.

My main Black legion force is just a lazy re-use of my SoH 30k army, and though recently i’ve added chosen, noise marines and the like with modified 40k CSM I’ve kept the eye of horus, even on my Abaddon counts-as...
All because I don’t play 30k and for a while the 30k stuff was more recent and better looking than CSM model range.
If it ever came up id just say they are post-hersey or true sons or so
