Aasfresser
Hello my fellow Goatherds, This question is surely old and was answered here somewhere for sure but as my B&C research was unsatisfactory. I'm planning a 30 goat strong blob (or 3 x 10 goat teams) for normal games. In Kill Team it's a no brainer, Blades all the way. If this was discussed somewhere else in detail, I would be very happy about the link to that discussion and about closing/deleting this topic! Cheers, Aasfresser
Ahzek451
So far, the popular opinion seems to the same since the beginning. Blades are the preferred choice. Pistols strike in separate phase, only add a slight boost in kills (mostly against other light armored opponents), and potentially stops charges by killing the target in the shooting phase. There are a lot of other reasons, but the -1ap tilts the balance to say this is the best all-comer choice. Especially since there is no pts difference. Marshlands
Also, if you ever wanna try sigmar, blades become compatible and they're pretty good in sigmar too Aasfresser 1 Back to top
Raven1
Yeah it really isn't a question at all. I mean I don't know anyone that plays with Tzaangors and run chainsword and pistol. Prot
Always blades, even in 7th. If you want some flash light power, just take Cultists. Aasfresser, Quixus and JeffJedi 3 Back to top
Aasfresser
First: Thank you all for the replies! So it is blades then. I think we can close the topic now, any further discussion should be redundant :)
Xenith
AP-1 will kill more than pistols every day of the week. AP-1 means you kill 16% more 5+ save guardsmen, for example, or cause 100% more wounds on 2+ saves. Ciler
Also, the chainsword and pistol upgrade is ludicrously expensive at 10€/$12.50 for 5 models which means a surprising 60€/$75 for a blob of 30...
Darnok
Interesting read, thanks to everybody. From a modelling standpoint however, I will get at least one set of the (ridiculously priced) upgrade sprues and spread them over a larger unit. I will use them "counts as" blades, but I like the look of the pistols and chainswords too much to miss out on them completely. There is the good old GW we know and love. The 40k Tzaangor box used to be only $5USD different and you got 2 sprue for all 10 Tzaangors. They really need to figure out the bits business, because they are awful at it. Who is buying that...honestly who is buying that? Because y'all we need to have a talk.
