Chapter rules for Astral Claws?

Hi, I salute you maelstrom folks

As a Equerry of our Tyrant, I need some guidance from others Astartes.

Recently, I was thinking about build a true scale Astral Claws company...but I have many doubts about what chapter rules fit better to the Tyrant's Legion doctrines.

Basically, I think on the Black Templars, the Crusaders Squads represents very well how the Tyrant's Legion use mortals like cannon fooder and preserve the Astartes lifes (as you must know...they are too important).

And maybe, Hellbretch can represent our grace:the Tyrant and The Emperor's Champion could represent Sumatris (The Champion of the Tyrant).

What do you think...Servers of the Tyrant?

Do you pay the last tribute to our grace?

Be alives and vigilants, maelstrom folks!

Why not use the actual character rulesets in the FW index? For CT, Black Templars could work well, but I think White Scars is more accurate.. if I remember their official CT from 7th edition it was bike based, something about being the Masters of encirclement

Hello!

These rules are official on 8th? I have the two physical volumes of Badab War and I love it!

Do you have the link with the updates to 8th?

Thank you so much

Well the 7th Ed tactics for the Astral Claws gave them stubborn and skilled riders... now what chapter tactics would fit that..... Huh Dark Angels. So you could either go with that which is similar to what they previously had (obviously ignoring the DA specific stuff like the big ass land speeder or the DA flyers) or choose something more thematic to your force. Maybe your force is more zealous in prosocuting the Tyrants will, so the BT trait will work well for you. Maybe your force is more defensive in nature, maybe they are holding a key stronghold so the IF trait would be better. Maybe they are a catch all force, so the Ultra trait would work better.

What do you see your force as? And what tactic would be best to represent that? Because don't forget the Astral Claws had almost (or maybe more) 3,000 Astartes so there would be room for some companies or forces to be more specialised.

It's fortunate that someone necro'd this thread because i was about to ask something similar.

Would anyone go with a succesor chapter rule or use the secondary rules for them?
I think Stoic and Hungry For Battle might work (+´1 ld and +1 to advance and charges)

what would you guys think?

That looks like a fairly accurate translation of their previous Chapter Tactics into the new rules.

And if you're running an Astral Claws force from during the Badab War, don't forget about the Tyrant's Legion.

Thats one of the issues Brother, such heretics are only nice pre-badab war. The tyrant's legion is an abomination!
