masterstrider Posted May 4, 2019 Share Posted May 4, 2019 (edited) The entire bike goes together VERY well. However, the lance arm is a complete pain in the A$$. This is because the shoulder pad does not sit very well; there are not enough contact points for the glue to sit nicely. What I did was to magnetise the arm with 3mm x 1mm magnets. Then I put a bit of green stuff between the shoulder pad and the arm, positioned it, let it set overnight and it came out very flush. faithonwings Posted May 6, 2019 Share Posted May 6, 2019 magnetizing the arms is the way to go. Transportation is almost impossible without. I use 3x1 mm for in the body but 3x3 for is the arms. The shoulder is thick enough for this and my advice for magnets is always 'the bigger the better'. Magnet on the bottom of the hole and on top of the transparent resin piece? Ideally I'd like to remove the tank from it's base for transporting. It's a pain in the backside to do , but it is certainly worth it. The first set of bikes I did (in that link) sold for a lot of money compared to a set I did without magnets. Caladius has a very different kind of stand, something I have not worked with. It's also fairly heavy model, so I'm unsure how to approach magnetizing it. I really don't know that stand, but if it doesn't use a stem, I imagine you could just 'pin' it? (That's what I did to a Repulsor). Unfortunately I don't know the base but I would suggest asking in the painting/Hobby forum for advice if no one has a good suggestion here. It still wobbles a bit, which makes it feel like it's actually hovering. On another note those bases and lance tips are super awesome! I really need to get practicing with my airbrush. As someone who transports them with lance arms I would still suggest magnetising the arms, but if you keep the riders off like I do then you could get away with keeping them on and putting them in foam with the lances going flat over the top though this may not protect them enough in your case.
