Quantum
For me the biggest part of this isn’t tactical but rather filling gaps we know must exist for the force narratively. The Mechanicus needs to have ways of ferrying important troops and goods in an active war zone, needs to have ways on and off planet to their fleets, needs to have fighter craft. I like to get as much of that filled in as possible, and to build and paint it and play the narrative out. That makes a great deal of sense. I haven't rolled dice in anger since before 8th edition dropped so the rules don't matter to me particularly. I just have a gut feeling that a transport vehicle specifically for Skitarii would be less robust than a vehicle designed to move Tech Priests of various types around. I recall the book Skitarius did mention dropships used by the Skitarii, though the only things I remember about them were that the Skitarii were packed in like sardines because personal space wasn't a priority for them and that they get shot to pieces if the Mechanicus forces don't have air superiority. It still amuses me that the current background for the Skitarii is to just drop them on the other side of the planet and let them spend months marching toward the enemy. The Eldar would just die laughing as they hop in a Falcon and just hover outside weapons range for eternity. Besides, How do the Skitarii remain supplied while marching around like that? They would still need food/fuel to keep them in fighting condition. The sooner we get transports for our expendable assets brave soldiers the quicker that daft bit of lore can be scrubbed out. Indeed. Right now the codex doesn't even include units the lore says the Adeptus Mechanicus has, like the Auxilllia Myrmidon and the Ordo Reductor (Forge World only units notwithstanding). And one of the primary tasks of the Skitarii is escorting the titan legions. How is a skitarii footsoldier supposed to keep up with with a Titan moving at full speed? I always considered the AdMech codex a mere selection of the units available to the AdMech fighting forces, and hoped that more would eventually be made into plastic models. Glad to see GW obliged. Subtle Discord
I'm completely confident that AdMech is going to continue to be drip-fed releases at the very least over time and a larger expansion is all but certain at some point. I suspect that they've performed well enough from a sales perspective to keep them 'in rotation' as it were. Given the scope and pace of releases that GW has been maintaining and increasing over the last several months, I suspect that they've got their production expansion problems sorted out. With this kind of pace I expect to see all sorts of unexpected releases all over the spectrum for any faction that's performing at least reasonably well in sales. Who expected a proper styrene Chaos Knight kit? I know it was out of left field for me, and I'll admit we still need to see if it's a full kit or an add-on, but it's still an example of the interesting times we're enjoying in the hobby right now. So many things to build and paint, never enough time!
BolterZorro
I'm afraid that the incoming transport is the new Mechanicum Ordinatus Aktaeus Imperial mole. https://www.forgeworld.co.uk/en-US/Mechanicum-Ordinatus-Aktaeus-2019#utm_source=Warhammer%20Community&utm_medium=Post&utm_content=FWOrderDreadDrop10052019 https://www.warhammer-community.com/2019/05/10/forge-world-pre-orders-death-from-above-death-from-below/ And this is super unfortunate and really sad to loose such an opportunity. PiñaColada
Is that confirmed? It seems weird that the video was for a super expensive FW product and not a mainline GW product. Unless they explicity stated that this is the case then I seriously doubt they were referring to the mole

I dont actually think thats the transport they were talking about. Therell be a 40k one as thats what the teaser was for and that Mole is HH only
Magos Takatus
At this point having the Mole as our transport would be "Plastic Thunderhawk" level trolling. I find that unlikely but if it is it would be surprisingly tone-deaf on GW's part.
Clingy
I can’t see it as likely as technically then we already have a transport in the termite drill. I think we will see a plastic transport tomorrow It won’t be a flyer with 40” movement and 6D6 S9 AP5 D6 dmg with a transport capacity of 20 able to disembark after moving....but it will be something
Charlo
I don't think it's that at all mate. The Mole is not a surprise if anything.
Kraken
Also it's a Mechanicum model. It doesn't even have rule for 40K. GW posting that teaser video and then going "ho yeah it's actually rules for that 400€ model" would trigger bloody riots.
Black Knight
OOhh is that?! That looks like the binoculars on top of the hatch of our tan ks. Feral_80
The rounded helmet of the guy definitely seems that of a Vanguard. This might well be our new transport. The brick shape is not very promising, but let us wait and see the real pics. Somehow, the shape and especially the turret vaguley reminds me the old metal autocannon Predator. Which is weird, because turrets seems a thing that AdMech vehicles do not employ otherwise. Edited May 11, 2019 by Feral_80
hermanista
It is a hovercraft after all, that's awesome and something unseen in 40k so far. Roll on its proper reveal later Battybattybats 1 Back to top
MithrilForge
Fingers crossed!, that silhouette looks big and cool, hopefully big enough to hold at least 12 sets of feet ! One more day ... Mithril
Battybattybats
Well it’s looking unlikely now to be a dual build flyer but I’m still very excited. A hovercraft is certainly quite anachronistic and cool. Hopefully we’ll still get a flyer before too long.
Charlo
Transport - Stubbers Galore! Also confirmed it can ferry around Electro Priests! Battle Tank - Large Autocannon and... Maybe some kind of explosive shell gun? Edited May 11, 2019 by Charlo Ordo Machinum and Vel'Cona 2 Back to top
MagicHat
It is a LoS blocking brick so all is well in this world. Not at all what I expected, but I like it.
Battybattybats
It’s very different yet still fits elements of style from the Skitarii. I definitely like them both.
Ammonius
It's an all-terrain Higgins boat link. I love how it's clearly different than Astra Militarum and Space Marine vehicles. I hope it has solid rules so it becomes an "unlovely beloved" part of the Mechanicus army.

Black Knight
Same I dreaded a grav tank but they gave us.... something beautiful in the only way Mechanicus can love. Mechanicus Tech-Support, Battybattybats and Quantum 3 Back to top

Feral_80
The ww2 amphibious transport version is cool. I like the concept and it is original. The tank version is, as expected, simply horrible.
Magos Takatus
That thing is bonkers, some weird hovercraft/landing craft thing. I should be turning my nose up at this thing but it looks like something Gerry Anderson would build if he was angry. At the very least I can see myself getting the tank and transport versions. Are we allowed to use Ruststalkers now? :p
