The Iron Taurans, Updated 31/07 Indomnitus models

Recommended Posts

I love those mashups with old 30k bits.

They feel like gritty warpigs who will give no quarter.

The greys and faded reds enhance the bleak feeling. Love it. Also the blue eyes are a fantastic contrast

Thanks a lot Vespasian, I hoped I could make them look like worn and brutal trench fighters. Glad you think they have!

I've got most of the way through a dreadnought, just to neaten some stuff up and finish some stuff off. This is the first time that I've tried a rust effect on a model so C&C is very welcome.

The Dreadnought is well-painted.

Looks good brother. If you want a little more weathering try a very light dry brush of black and then dark silver on only the edges. Very little though.

Cheers Primarch83

Thanks a lot guys! I may give the weathering a bash, not sure what I'll do just yet.

It's been a little while since I've updated, but I went away to Paris but now I'm back and I'm vowing for the ETL. I vowed 20 intercessors, 5 terminators, terminator librarian, venerable dread and Roorland (my chapter master).

I've wanted to get into the competitive scene for a while now and I have signed myself up to Fun'n Fluff tournament at the end of July. It's quite restrictive in what you can take and because my Intercessors have boltguns instead of bolt rifles I can't actually take them as Intercessors and have to take them as Tactical marines. My list is:

Captain with Power Axe and Storm Bolter

Terminator Librarian with Force Axe and Storm Bolter

Techmarine with power axe

3x units of tactical marines with a plasma gun and a missile launcher

Redemptor Dread with all the dakka

Venerable dread with twin las

5 Terminators one 1 chainfist

Land speeder with 2 Heavy Bolters

1 Vindicator

1 Whirlwind

I have best part of 2 months to paint all of this :biggrin.: Diamonds are made under pressure after all

I've actually managed to get quite a lot of colour done on this guy for a black and white colour scheme. C&C welcome, I think he's pretty much done, just some tidy ups and finishing the base. First of the terminators are done for my vow

Techmarine is pretty much done, just need to find a boltgun and a base. Really pleased with how he's come out.

I like the head. Where is it from? Could be from the fw upgrade kit for stormcast eternals because I think I remember the scar, but I'm not sure?

Thanks Ranulf! You're bang on the money there, it's from the forgeworld upgrade kit it matched the straight backed, upright pose of the model with a contempt-full sneer.

Ha! Yeah, there's something... Let's say aristocratic about that head

I decided to name my vehicles after giants and mythical creatures from Greek mythology. Cottus was the giant of striking or fury, which I thought would be quite apt for a Vindicator. Damysus was the fastest of all the giants, which makes sense for an Interceptor I think. Centimani was a giant with 100 hands again quite appropriate for a vehicles that fires 100s of rockets (the whirlwind).

These are pretty much done, maybe a couple of tidy ups and a little more weathering on the Vindicator. C&C very welcome

Intercessors are nearly there too, just some bases left to do:

Landspeeder and Whirlwind are done for the Iron Taurans, only the Roorland Taurí left and my vow and my Fun'n'Fluff list are complete, I'm excited

Centimani were Greek giants that had 100 hands, which makes sense for a vehicles that fires hundreds of rockets

You are cranking out models at the speed of light.

Well done sir, I would love an army overview shot if your fun’n fluff list or entire army if you can manage it.

Keep up the excellent work brother‼️

Thanks Joker! I'm impressed at my painting speed too, I'm usually slower than a snail. I'm planning on doing an army shot once I have the Captain done

Considering "Centimani" is the name of this race of giants, it makes more sense to use it as a unit designation, i.e., "Whirlwind Battery 'Centimani,'" and the individual tanks "Aegaeon," "Briareus," "Cottus," and "Gyges." The origin of the name can be the clan the battery's founding Techmarine was recruited from.

I dont check this thread as often as I should. The conversions and colour scheme really give your models a brutal look.

Where are the blades from? Especially on the converted limited lieutenant.

Thanks Marshall, that's very kind of you

The blade on the limited captain is from the Forgeworld Khârn the Betrayer model, more choppy than an Ork with that.

The blade on the other captain is from the limited tartauros praetor

Thanks for the Info. I am still entertaining thoughts of a carachodons project. Those would fit right in.

For sure man, they're very brutal looking weapons and would fit in with Carachodons. I'm always happy to see more space sharks

Gosh, what happened to that guy, acidic tyranid blood? gruesome :smile.:

I think the wound is a bullet of some sort, I'm not too sure but it'll probably just be a slashing claw that caught him in the face.

With Fun'n'fluff just round the corner (next Saturday), I'm finally nearly finished with my army. As I can't take my primaris marines as Intercessors because they have boltguns instead of boltrifles, I have to take them as Tactical marines so I have painted and converted up some special weapons. Right now, I only have 6 models left to paint and some bases to finish and I'm done!
